Morning Worlds.
Sorry I've been awol not caught up yet but I'm getting there slowly. The drawbridge is firmly up and locked at wellyhq - summer visitors are wonderful but its been rather busy since we moved in and now its just us and the chooks and the mutts. Its kinda nice too. We're having a month off visitors....Pops the kettle on...
...settles down to do a meal plan for the week...
Ah not done mine yet, although I looked in the freezer/fridge last night (does that count) but do love your ratios*drinks coffee*
*remembers how badly last week's mealplan went*
I'm about to 'review mine' - not sure it went to plan either. but a girl can dream :rotfl:Greying_Pilgrim wrote: »Be a love and do mine tooI'm up to my neck in pollyfiller and dust and haven't got round to doing mine yet
 to all - off to get shouted at by himself again.....
Greying
Dusts off greying and contemplates a monthly meal plan, lies on floor with damp cloot on heid. (I don't know how you manage to plan for a month, I can't manage a day.)
Morning KC - great ratios eh? Must mind on RT's mantra myself and yup making it not 'the same thing' everyday is a bit hard.
Cheery - sounds intreguing. I've had some lovely housewarming pressies (especially some very funky cushions, tea cosy's etc) so I'll be well excited you're very kind.
And, the job person - yes he did say that and oddly he's phoned today to have a chat later or on Thursday. Maybe my meagre muscles are outweighed by my actual skills, who knows. I'm a tad nervous heading to visit an organisation which sounds a bit sexist, but maybe he's just a pragmatist. Its physically quite hard work and I guess some folks (men as well, might find it hard).
Now I know I've not caught up properly but I'll endeavour to do that in a mo.
Todays plan to form and of course the kettle is on.

There's underlying sexism everywhere, Pippi, its surprising how much is still out there ... maybe once they went through the list of what they wanted in a candidate, it was obvious that you were the best? And it sounds like they may not be sexist enough to pass you by :A you might be just the right person at just the right place if you went there2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Grass to mow
Meal plan to do :P
Clean ONE room, we're behind cos of visitors
Look into non-concreting in the new washing line, I'd rather not buy concrete if I don't need it

Write up a blog - been ages as heids been all wonky (wonkier)
Find purse. Yes its in that 'safe place' again.
Look at local jobs.
I'm pondering trying to work out my 'petrol' and aim for NDD's (NON DRIVING DAYS) might help focus the noggin rather than being a petrol head. Being in middle of nowhere this might need some thought and planning.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Unfortunately, this has got my goat (other mammals are available), so I couldn't really read and run.
He isn't sexist. What is sexism? It's a contraction of "sexual prejudice". What is prejudice - that's a contraction of "pre-judging" - i.e. judging before the facts.
What he has done is, he has given those women the opportunity, seen the facts (of them not doing very well), and has come to a conclusion - "post-judging" if you will. If he had been prejudiced - he would never have given them the opportunity in the first place.
If in the interview you'd been looking for the opportunity, and not the slight, and said something along the lines of "I'm looking for hard physical work, office work is not keeping me fit enough" - he probably would have been all over you like a rash.
But, now he's gone and given you the opportunity, flying directly in the face of the alleged sexual prejudice. You may succeed, you may fail. If you do fail, are you going to say "You're right - that is too much like hard work." or are you going to run for the hills shrieking "Sexism!"
We'll see - either way.Pippilongstocking wrote: »Its physically quite hard work and I guess some folks (men as well, might find it hard).
If he'd said "We've not had too much luck with people shorter than 5' 8" - would that have made it OK, despite it referring to the exact same people?Pippilongstocking wrote: »Sunshine here.

Sorry Z I didn't mean to offend, if I did, apologies. Please step away from the goat (or mammal of choice)
nice to see you.
Maybe sexism/sexist was the wrong word (?) being dyslexic is a curse sometimes as I struggle to find the right words, which isn't an excuse so much as a fact. In fact it was my 'other half' who used the 'S' word, he's worried that if an initial conversation to find out about a job involved gender, he was concerned that it wasn't a place he'd be comfy with me working.
I do think he (Boss person) perhaps shouldn't have mentioned it to be honest. I was a bit surprised someone would be so blunt on the phone. Then again, if they're busy, reliability and ability should really be the crux of the matter, he possibly phrased it a bit wrong.
As I'm under 5ft in real life, I hope they don't have a 'height' policy.but I do need a stool to perform some tasks..........I do not deny this.
Mind you looking at a 5 ft lunatic working in a largely male dominated agri/hort industry, (no prejudice intended) I'm use to a bit of hearty banter regarding abilities of short folks.
I promise I shall not pre-judge and I'm not much of a shrieker. I might just be too far down the birthday candles to be of much use which happens to us all.
I'm going along for a chat, we'll see what the outcome is either way.
Again sorry if I offended, twasn't meant to if I got me words wrong.
