I'ive found some 'dying' mushrooms in the fridge and so had a hunt on Jack's Bootstrap site to see how to preserve them

Link here for a-z of don't throw it away.

Mushrooms: Best thing is to dry them. It intensifies their flavour and they can keep for a year in a jar. Simply leave to dry on a baking tray for a few days, or pop in the bottom of the oven when it’s on for something else. They make an excellent earthy stock too, just slow cook with herbs and an onion, a carrot if you have it, and a pinch of salt for an excellent base for soup or risotto. From Jack

So if its good enough for her, its grand for me too.

Off them go onto a tray in the oven for a few days (off) until I get home.

When I turn it on and there's a mushroomy smell, do remind me dear hearts.

And I put them on a tea towel I can't remember the last time (if ever) we had kitchen roll. :rotfl::D:rotfl:

Maybe we'll just leave them on the kitchen table covered. I don't want to bake a t-towel.

ETA found a half tin of beans in a tub in there too - its now in the freezer it will do a lunch one day soon.

RT yay and I know grr.

So Pips - how did Operation 'Rescue Desk' go??? Hope the beautious beast found his way home!

No Crispie squares got made this weekend - too many clean the house chores - guess it's a carry over until next weekend! - my hips are thankful I'm not super efficient... ;)

We did however manage to declutter 1/2 drawers worth of freezer food - a bag kale, some chopped chorizo, ice cream, pork roast, yorkies (they freeze so well!) and cream of broccoli soup that magically turned into bone broth once defrosted - but then replaced it with bargainous fish fillets & burgers that will last us for the next three weeks. - I'm a sucker for a good food sale - you know how it is Pips...

OH brought home two small tubs of 'anniversary' ice cream last week - I think his memory is going as I distinctly remember having him bring a cheese assortment when he was 'courting'. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
