I'm putting turkey meatballs out there in the universe for tomorrow.

Just telling myself as I've cooked rice already :) and I'll forget.

  • Blew the budget on reduced ciabatta and fish.

    You'd expect that though eh?

Spends for June grocery in at £107.34/100

Bad pippi, all for an extra ciabatta and some sour dough

Nice walk along beach with TRG - hounds had a good scamp.

    :D

5 out of 8 chooks gone to bed (in the right place, by themselves) I'll pop up in a mo and check they've all got lights out.

£2/half dozen for free range eggs?? Crumbs, it really is expensive down south ;)

(£1.20 for the free range ones at the farm around the corner - I had an hysterical five minutes watching one of Joyce's chickens chasing a lamb across the field the other week!)

Morning Waves to Caz - hope yesterday''s hard work went splendiferously.

Yeah I've seen them for £2/half doz doon in these here posh sooth parts. But also some wee 'honesty' boxes for £1.50 and sometimes a bit lower.

:D to chooks chasing lambs! Sounds great fun.

Must figure out what price to sell mine at.

Morning lands another fine sunny day here in the lands of stripes.

Chooks are all present and correct. Egg count stopped at 3 at 7pm last night, we'll see what the scores on the doors are today.

Pinch punch first of the month and all that.

The meatballs are a steeping in some cajun spices. Rice cooked, leftover flat breads in the freezer (they don't keep well, so I'm trying put them in the freezer straight after made and take them out when needed) we'll see if that works.

Today's a 'worky' day we'll see how that all goes, I'm starting early so I can finish early as it looks gorgeous out there.

    Cuppa/Banks/Listypops.

    :D

    Sleepy hello today.

Anyone watch the world best diets? Seems largely unprocessed grub, lots of veg, lots of fish is the best for ya.

I aim for free range but YEESH they're so expensive. If I get them reduced then I'm always delighted. Sadly the budget of late has had to go for quantity more than quality...

Its a quandry right enough its one of the reasons I've always loved having hens.

    [checks they're still there :p] :D:j

Budgets are tough cookies and need to be managed don't they so we have to cruise the reduced and hope its kind.

Nudges Mooomin, I ken someone, you know, who might be able to sort you out on the free range front :)

Might mean a cuppa though....still working on that T date thing :):D

Got the freezer going yesterday for reduced bread central. Aside the odd sour dough treat I can't mind when I bought a full price loaf.

Gotta love MSE and the ways of the :money:

Well they appear to be very well rested when I gave them thier first brekkie.

    Thanks for asking :D

Scarlet was a bit limpy yesterday so we'll keep an eye on her. Had read that sometimes they take a while to adjust to being able to walk around properly. *makes me sad how hens are kept in big units*

Must investigate sunburn and chooks the girls are, em, rather, naked in various patches and its a very sunny day.

Whilst I'm sure they're fine I don't want burned bums and necks on my watch - might lob a sheet over to keep them from the rays.

    Oh dear I sound very Margot-ish or Barbara-ish don't I??

I might lob a sheet over but I'm not attempting to apply factor 50. Too far people, too far. If only they'd hold a wee sun parasol each, they'd be sorted.

    A wee list..........
    Set budgets for July
    Banks
    Work
HM meals (brekkie no clue, lunch no clue, tea HM Meatballs and rice)
Plant beans and peas on the shed poles.
Plant chilli's up into proper pots and put in conservatory
Feed hens and collect eggs still exciting having hens!
Pot up some shrubs moved from a bed.
    Walk dogs local
Pop back a sprayer to a neighbour
Might do a bit of baking
Rearrange freezer so the breads all easier to see in one.
Clean out fridge and put up on gumtree
Tidy up a bit (not very MSE but good for the headspace)
SAAS paperwork to post (in village before lunch)
    Water tubs outside
    Chop logs for 10 mins
Look at freezer grub and make a wee meal plan for weekend when we have folks to stay for OH's birthday
Strain elderflower cordial and add citric acid label as 2014 so don't get confused! (still have 2 bottles 2013)
Look at bread book and contemplate another recipe to try
Text a chum about a visit
Skype DD in NZ - she's between 'rentals' so maybe at weekend!
A bit more gardening - sow some carrots?
    Do the recycling!

Have a great day one and all sunny here lets hope its good with you.

Wow what a list!! It's threatening sunshine here too. Which is always nice. Have to take DD to school in the car this morning though as I want to take DS straight up the doctors afterwards. There are no appointments. It's first come first served and it does get busy
