I have found John Lewis to be the best place for bra fitting. I was measured at M&S once and then wondered why none of the things would fit properly, I went to John Lewis and discovered that I had in fact been measured incorrectly.

    Thanks
Bravissimo have branches in Manchester, Liverpool and Chester. If you're going at busy times in can be worth booking a fitting, but they have a comfy waiting area (with magazines for bored husbands!)

I rarely find a bra in M&S that fits. I'm a 36DD/36E, the best brands I've found for me are Curvy Kate and Gorgeous at Debenhams.

ive been measured in M&S but still cant seem to keep the damn things in place.

    Hi there,

Just wanted to make a point re this - Just because M&S tell you that you are one size, doesn't make it strictly so.

In the run up to my wedding, and the hunt for the perfect bra - I was measured at three different shops in one day, - M&S, Debenhams and La Senza. Every size was different. There doesn't appear to be standard sizes.

I could not believe that I had been given three different sizes from three different, but reputable shops.

    No wonder women are confused!

The advise was also very different ''your bra should not be higher at the back than the front - should be the same level all the way round''.....''it is normal for a bra to be higher at the back than at the front''.....''do the straps up as tight as you can''.....''for great cleavage, you have to suffer a little pain''..........ARGHHHH completely did my head in
The opposite of what you know...is also true

Thank you for the replies so far. I have looked at the Bravissimo and they look very pretty. I think my first thing though is to find somewhere to get measured properly and I havnt been successful with M&S.

There is a shop in Bury called Love Your Fit it's brilliant... they sell gorgeous bras in all sizes and colours. I always go there now having been allegedly a 42DD at M& S and in a proper fit I am a 38 F. Wearing the correct bra size is so comfortable and makes all your clothes hang batter. I usually buy Freya, Curvy Kate and Panache.

same size as my DD! another one who shops at Bravissimo. they do fit so well! but, as the fitter told her she may need a different cup size depending on the 'style' of bra and shape of the boob.
expensive I know, but DD tends to use her birthday and xmas money to invest in new bras.
Bravissimo are so well made they do last a long time though. Did you know that the reason you have three settings on the back fastening is so that you start with the tightest setting and as the bra gets worn and washed you can tighten it by moving up a setting? if your bra is on the last setting when new - you are wearing the wrong size. (just thought I would put that in because it amazes me how many women don't know that)

    Bravissimo?
You can buy loads and return the ones which don't fit, or get to one of their stores?

Edit: I'm a 36F ish and have had lots of success with the Bravissimo brands but none at all in M&S- during one memorable trip I tried on seven styles, all the same size as the (M&S) bra I was wearing, and not one fitted!

M&S is one of the worst places you can buy bras from. They don't use a standard sizing system.

It doesn't fill me with confidence that the model on the front page of their web site is wearing a brassiere that doesn't fit.
