Did he fail the assessment or is he appealing the decision to place him in the WRAG? In the latter case his payment will be means assessed after a year. In the former case he will continue to receive the assessment rate until his appeal is heard.

I think he failed the assessment and scored 0 points he received a letter saying payment ends in August and he is awaiting an appeal date thought to be in June, I will ask him later he is at hospital today but fairly sure I have the info correct.

    Jenny,
If you are really an insider - I assume that this is NOT your real name ?
Please take care - I have heard stories (through my trades union) of Whistle blowers being hounded until they resign - so be very careful !!

I agree with your point, but just to clarify that posting this information on a forum does not come under the whistleblowing protections. jennyjenkins, have you not reported this issue to the appropriate body? It does need reporting, ideally by someone within HMCTS.

Yes he will continue to get the money. He may have a few weeks of not receiving any money, at the end of the 12 moinths, but it will all be back dated. At the moment in out office alone we have 189,000 people that have been waiting longer than 18 months for their appeal, it is scandalous, there are seven staff in this office, and all we do is answer the occasional phone call that does manage to get through to us.

In that case he will continue on the assessment rate indefinitely.

Everyone knows what is going on, the government don't want any whistle blowing, as it will prove their incompetence. PIP was the worst decision made, we knew it the Doctors knew it, and we all said it will not work, but of course it had to look as though the government was doing something, it will not happen, they will come out with some claptrap sooner or later that they are going to make things easier for claimants, the government will not admit what a !!!! up it has all been.

No it is not my name, those of you on PIP at the moment will be the only ones, it is all going to revert back to DLA, this is why people who are applying for PIP are being send DLA forms out. We have had to stop all the contracts with the Doctors, because we can not hold appeals.

This is MAJOR news - if true (and I have no reason to doubt it)
So the government is making another U turn ??
But do you have anything to substantiate this ?

I'm back to work now, but could I suggest this is brought to the attention of Anne Begg or Sheila Gilmore? Both are Labour MPs on the Work and Pensions Select Committee.
