I am an existing DLA claimant, 1111. The letter I received on Friday states that I am now to apply for PIP and if I did not make the initial phone contact by the beginning of July, my DLA claim would be frozen.
I made the telephone contact today and had to answer some questions over the phone. I was then told I would be sent a PIP application form. It was also mentioned that I would be having a face to face assessment at some point. Apparently, you only have a certain amount of time in which to now return the PIP forms, otherwise the benefit will stop.
If the PIP decision is not made by the time DLA is up for renewal, does that mean that the DLA will stop all together, until a decision is made, or will the DLA carry on as normal until such a time as a decision on PIP is made, jennyjenkins?Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

Return the forms as soon as you can, treat them as you would if they had been a DLA renewal. If you do not return the forms, it will be treated in the same way as it would have been if you had not returned the DLA renewal application forms. It still amazes me that they are still saying that people will have to have a face to face assessment at SOME POINT, when PIP was first supposedly introduced, you had to have the assessment before you were given the PIP. If it is not returned your claim will stop.0 -
My son was receiving high rate care an low rate mobility for 4yrs, sent off renewal and got a straight out no even though they didn't ask anyone for information. I requested a mandatory reconsideration and that is dated 20th Feb and I am still waiting on a decision. Get hung up on whenever I call so I'm just waiting it out now!0

Have you written to them? if you have written, did you get a reply stating that they have received your application for a reconsideration? you should have had a reply by now, and if they still said No, you could have asked for an appeal.0 -

Hey Jenny, yea I wrote to them asking for reconsideration, recieved letter saying they had recieved it then a few weeks later I got the standard sorry for the delay letter. Nothing since and apparently they now have additional information but it's with the decision maker, has been since at least April as when I call for an update thats all I get told. Think I'm on week 17 of waiting! That's some back pay if they approve the claim lol!!0 -

There have been people waiting for a couple of years for their appeals to go through, we had one case where (not in our office thankfully) a woman waited 4 years for her appeal, she did win the appeal, and every penny was back dated. At the moment 17 weeks is not a long time, but you can always write another letter asking them what is happening. Writing is far better than telephoning, because letters have to be answered, phone calls can be forgotten about.0 -

ha ha ha ha I can't get any overtime, there isn't enough work for normal hours.0 -
i didnt think DWP paid overtime?
both mu kids work for DWP and have flexi hours. any 'overtime' is paid as hours due....
taking those hours when there arent enough staff to cover the workload is a different issue
