Yes, could be, BB and YB...time will tell.0

I have finally opened 2 of these accounts and have no intention of using them other than for the 3% interest. Do I have to active the cards?0
-
I always activate my debit cards (where required) for all the current accounts I have, and change the PIN to one that I can remember . You never know when you might want to need the card sometime down the line. E.g. you might want to switch the account at some stage in the future, and they might not let you do that if the card hasn't been activated.
My cards for my 'savings' accounts all live in a safe, btw.0 -
I've never had it block a switch (on a sample of 8 switches only
) but do activate Debit Cards on accounts where I might need to do a telephone ID check with the relevant bank and/or may want to make payments to organisations like NS&I - who seems to be most comfortable with Debit Card pulls.
Mine are also under lock and key - expired account ones being trimmed and transferred to my tool box.
They make very good packing pieces for door hinges.

I always activate the card, note down the long number and expiry and CVV in 1Password for switching purposes, then destroy it. If I need a replacement I can always call for one.0

I can't find anything about what a months means in their T&Cs. Have I missed something? Will be calling them in a bit and will be very grumpy if I don't get my fiver back.
I got a generic letter from Tesco today telling me that they were refunding all the fees that had been paid due to this issue because their rules weren't clear. They're refunding £5.10 for the fee and lost interest. They refunded mine back in October shortly after I posted the above. I wonder if I'll get my 10p too!:)0 -

I've just noticed £5.10 in one of my current accounts and was just on the point of ringing them - this may explain it although I do need to check it out as I can't recall being charged it. No letter (yet).
Perhaps they are trawling through penalised accounts and sorting it out automatically.0
