I don't know if anyone else has mentioned but the 1p flights were also available on London Gatwick flights and not just Stansted - although obviously these are limited to a small number of routes to Ireland and not the choice you get with Stansted. The advertised 1p flights were not the only ones around...

... and that's why we're going to Cork. My first criteria when I saw this offer was where do they fly to from Gatwick!

"dont forget all you anti ryanair posters, stick to your guns, remember the documentry about ryanair, the delays, cancelled flights, and the flight saftey issues, the poor old cabin crew, the disabled, the unpleasant micheal o leary, the carbon footprint lark, the steep aircraft steps, scratchcards"

LOL...not sure how tongue in cheek all this - Micheal O'Leary...is a demi-god in the aviation industry....has brought true freedom to the masses, just like rail travel did in the 19th century........laud the guy, if for nothing more than he has !!!!ed off endless gormless governments, vested interests and those who'd like to charge you a kings ransom, just for the right to make a bigger carbon footprint!!

We forget that Mr O' Leary is primarily a PR person, thats what he started out as, so why not stick two fingers up at the rest of them....and what does he get....free, invaluable publicity!!!

Secondly, Ryanair look at the load factors on various routes, realise they have yet to pass a critical point, ie keep it increasing each time the figures are gathered for all airlines. Wishing to be best, its therefore ok to give away all these flights.......to give that appearance of high load !

Simple logic......simple way of getting 1000s of people to scramble for seats and then sit smuggly back and develop a warm glow...all courtesy of Ryanair!
