Does everyone manage to get the whole house done in the week? I would love a tidy house
I don't get mine tidy in a decade!! lol.
I have spent 2 weeks getting through my kitchen cupboards and 2 of the 3 work surfaces and 1 of the 3 windowsills!
little and often.. every time I go in the kitchen I do a little.. put recycling out, put something in the bin, wipe a door or a drawer front for example.. Quite often I g in to make a cuppa and end up spending the 5 minutes it takes for the kettle to boil doing exciting cleaning and flinging.

Congratulations mummyroys! Must feel amazing!
Had some belting thunder storms here. I'm just having a lunch break, so thought I'd pop in. I spotted a few new challenges - will add you all to the list tonight.
Well done ionafan for finishing your work and dusty for getting on with your planting. Feels good doesn't it? :T
I have just paid a rather large bill that's been hanging around, now gone :T hurrah
pigpen, mine got android tablets and they really like them. They are so tech savvy at such a young age. I remember DD at about 18 months trying to swipe the screen of my mums (non-smart) phone and getting cross with it :rotfl: but I need to get the fingerprint app because she has memorised my PIN logins (phone and ipad)
Right - back to paid stuff for me...Bossymoo

Dustykitten wrote: »J666 - do you mean tidy or clean? I can get mine tidy in a week (my youngest is 12 though so that helps) but not often as clean as I would like. Oh and I'm not including DH's office and not often my paperwork
The key is finding a home for as many things as you can. Homeless items make tidying difficult. Valli lies by 'don't put it down, put it away'.
I would like to get the house really clean. I can put things away so that it looks tidy but there are areas which need a good clean and then there is the cupboard of doom where we throw everything so that it is out of sight and the room then looks tidy but you only venture into the cupboard at your own risk
We have a small dog and so the skirtings and door frames need a wash down where he has run past them and left dirt marksplus you can sometimes smell him but I haven't had the energy to really clean.
I have had a good go in the kitchen today though. Can I ask, what do people use to clean their ovens?2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -

Blimey is it me or is it exceptionally humid outside.. I'm sitting here sweating buckets and I can't decide if it's cos I'm having another delightful hot flush or it's really hot/muggy outside.. Literally just getting up and going about normal duties is enough for me.
I'll confess this weather isn't doing my ME any good, I keep coming over all sleepy and just doze off for 10 minutes or so at the drop of a hat ....
I want to hoover the downstairs, the darling dogs have managed to get cat litter down the stairs and in the living room, but I daren't as I'll end up a heap of sticky stuff..and I need to go out to pick my niece up shortly.
Do you think my neighbours would mind if I did all my hoovering at midnight when it's cooler...lolmummyroysof3 wrote: »Can I be excused from today's list as I completed my degree yay me
Congratulations honey, that's a great achievementSo pleased for you..
Welcome to all the newbies joining us and the returnees :j
Saw our resident Sparrowhawk make a magnificent kill this morning - he swept in and got a sparrow in mid flight. Not good for the sparrow but well you know what I mean, it was fantastic to watch. Then he sat on my front path, in the gravelly stuff and just sat there surveying all the territory before he flew off.. Nice to know he is back again..The goldfinches are enjoying having a whole feeder to themselves out the front, full of nijer seeds. We started off with one pair now we have progressed to 5 pairs... :T Kittens love sititng at the windows watching them eating and flying around.. They can even hear them calling and chirping now the mesh is up at the windows.. It's lovely to hear the goldfinches and then the chirrup of a kitten..or two

I got distracted by the window and chatting to people when they stopped to talk to me
2 hours later I'm just having a coffee and then I'm back in the kitchen with my music up loud. DD is at history club today and doesn't finish until 4.15 (or later if they get carried away like they did last week :rotfl:) so I'm going to try and do an hour flying, crossing off as many things on the list as possible
Also need to think of something to have for tea with salad, we had chicken kievs last night so its either salmon, tuna or sausage I think unless we have chicken again :rotfl:
Coffee is gone, so I'm going now :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
