The thing is, I would never have used the teaset, not even on display, I didn't like it, it just seemed like a waste to keep it when someone else could enjoy it. I can have memories of my mum without keeping her teaset in storage. It would just have languished in the cellar for decades. I sold it on EBay to an American.(I just lurve spiders!)

Ugh, sorry to hear that, LIR. Can your doctor actually refuse, legally? I have been referred to hospitals and centres out of the area on several occasions.

Then I have phone problems and it looks as if I'm going to be without a mobile for ten days / two weeks, which essentially means much more limited contact with fir weekdays.
Then finally a bill needs paying and the person only takes cheques. Who only takes cheques these days, not bank transfers? I haven't got a clue where a personal cheque book is even.
LIR, your bank/building society should be able to give you a counter cheque.
I use chequebooks! A fair bit still, although almost all my bills are paid by Direct Debit. I pay for my various classes with cheques and still pay my credit card bills with cheques. Plus if I owe anyone some money, I might pay them by cheque. Etc.(I just lurve spiders!)

It's time for a few extra anti-psychotics. With the combination of the landlady visiting, clearing out the bedroom and TOTM I am feeling very shaky and not quite real. A lot of things I imagine seem to be more real to me than what is really happening and I am questioning if my thoughts are true. This is not a good sign, I shall follow the new procedure of one big dose of anti-psychotics and see if that stops it.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Awww, nothing you said upset me, Pyxis. Promise. In fact it helps me to talk about things based in reality when it gets to this point. It is purely chemical and due to the stress of the last 24 hours. It isn't that bad, I am just aware of feeling a bit floaty when I shouldn't be.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Just catching up, but going back to previous conversations, one of my favourite school reports was from my piano teacher, which commented that "elsien has seemed slightly more awake than usual this term". Back in the days when teachers were allowed to show a little of their personalities.
My brother showed me his kids and it was all numbers - you needed a maths degree to work out if he was doing ok or not.
I am currently contemplating the hearth and wondering whether to test Gitdog out on a real fire. If there is shortly the smell of singed fur it's his own stupid fault. I also have a toasting fork and a
strong suspicion that he'd get to any marshmallows long before me. WAS, any toastable goodies amongst your approved food stash? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I always got glowing but barbed school reports directed at my family, especially from my teacher friend. They would say WaS is highly intelligent and capable of so much if it wasn't that she was under so much pressure at home and that things could be much improved in terms of my confidence if I had family support. My family stayed oblivious to it.
Hahahahaha! Good luck, elsien! Please let us know what Gitdog's reaction is! I have giant marshmallows! Shall I post some for Gitdog?
I promise you haven't upset me at all, SDW. None of the conversation here has. It fact it has helped. It is important that at times like this that I keep my thoughts on things grounded in reality, watching a film or reading a book would be a very bad idea right now. The conversation today has helped me remain grounded.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
