Perhaps it was you! The koala in my dream peeked over a fence then climbed over the fence and halfway over turned into a tapir!!:rotfl:

For those suffering colds. Fir has been making be take kaloba all over the holidays and I think it might have worked.

Unbelievably i think I am already shaking this cold off. Maybe a combination of that and being so well rested and doing less. But I had the cold much less severely than fir.....which doesn't feel right ...with a compromised immune system I tend to go down quite badly, but actually, it hasn't been so bad at all.

I came off all my meds for. Couple of days so I could take decongestants. I know this is not ideal but i was very worried about facial/head pain with filled sinuses after the first day and it didn't occur to me simply to take the ones I could. But I've really been ok.

Anyway, feeling better so will resume normal med routine tonightand lay of the other stuff now. Though, I am aware viruses have a diurnal rhythm often, and i might well be feeling different this evening. :)

Maybe I should stop teasing fir about his supplement addiction?
  • Good news that you have managed to fight it off, LIR! Despite being ill for two weeks I am actually quite pleased with how my body dealt with this. I was told I would be better in two weeks and I am. I was expecting my immune system to have a problem but it seems to have cleared it. The only thing I took loads of was Berocca. It is a supplement that was introduced to me by a friend who used it for hangovers as does just about everyone in Australia. As well as containing lots of vitamins it also replaces minerals and electrolytes lost. I have no idea if it helped but it certainly didn't harm me.

    Hello,
Peace has resumed this week after everyone (except me !) has returned to work or uni after the Christmas break.

I've been lurking but not had a lot to say somehow....

I found the mooncup woefully inadequate and prone to sudden disaster so reverted to multiple superplus tampons and night towels. Eventually I had an endometrial ablation (effectively burning out the womb lining) and once it settled no bleeding at all. I still feel 'hormonal' from time to time so don't think menopause has been yet but it's been life changing, so nice to just get on wth life without worrying about imminent flooding !!

I think I'm adjusting to the setraline, it's been 5 or 6 weeks now. The main thing I'm noticing is my arthritis pain is so much worse. Not sure if it's related or not but will discuss with GP. I managed today to pick up the dreaded phone to book an advance appointment... I'm so brave !!

Hugs to everyone .....too much going on to make comments on you all (sorry) xx

I used to live off berroca ( with guarana)

I am now advised by my medical team not to take it. Not least because it contains artificial sweeteners.

LIR, thanks for that! I had never heard of Kaloba! Just googled it! Will get some in and give it a go, next time!

Heard on the TV this morning that the flu virus we were vaccinated against last Autumn has mutated, so we're at risk of getting it. One very good defence is to wash hands after being in public places and use hand gel if washing is impractical.

A friend dropped in a couple of bottles of that lovely orangey beer I mentioned before.......Lincolnshire Orange Barley beer (Bateman's Brewery). It's 5.5% and is sold in small bottles of 330ml at M&S. It's lovely!
I went to my chiropractic appointment and coughed a bit but not as much as last Wednesday, and didn't feel as rough afterwards. So I really think I'm on the mend!
Am back in bed resting now, with lovely orangey barley beer!

How do you remember to take both out? I seem to remember a friend from uni having to get a tampon removed at the hospital after she forgot about it and did the jiggy with her boyfriend and it seems like thd kind of thing I'd do. I probably should have mentioned that I don't have especially heavy flow in relation to the mooncup though.

I have done over a week without aspartame. :j
