My dressing gown arrived. The colour is more mauve than mink but its still nice and dull. In fact its almost the same colour as my bedroom walls. A bit grubbing vintage.

And its so comfortable and I was wrong, its over generous in size, not mean at all. So, I've replaced the only dressing gown I ever liked with one I like BETTER!

Hooray for new favourite dressing gowns.

I had a hospital appointment and they weighed and measured me and I am so heavy. My bmi is huge! The doctor kept telling me to lose weight even though he acknowledged it would be impossible on my drugs and now I just feel ick. Doesn't help that the doctor was quite attractive.

Its so windy here. I am seriously worried about our roof and windows, not to mention the gate I just fixed.

I will have to hunt down Mapp and Lucia! Funnily enough my friend used to live opposite Miranda Richardson's sister and saw her quite a lot.

TOTM seems to be in overdrive so I had to vacate the bed for a sheet wash and mattress clean as well as a bath for myself. Hence I am up ridiculously early with cramps. Apologies for the TMI!

It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.

- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

I am on the mend! I feel a lot better than I did, I just need to lose the cough. Have a relaxing weekend, HBS!

I envy you, Pyxis! My mother had menopause at 38, my grandmother at 41 and here I am at 46 with TOTM as bad as it was at the age of 16 when they gave me birth control pills just to ease it up. Now, why didn't I inherit that gene? Codeine does help but I am limited to 8 a day so because I woke up so early I need to spread them out. Right now my hot water bottle is my best friend.

Mind you, don't knock a later menopause! While your oestrogen levels are up, you have protection against osteoporosis, and I think you are prone to it (?) so wouldn't want it any worse!

This is very true! I already have some in my neck from when I was 21 but it hasn't spread so that is a bright side!
