Good morning all!
That's amazing Duke! I am so happy for you!
Hope the thoughts have sorted themselves today, MU.
Panic. Panic. Panic. We have people coming into the flat next Tuesday to measure for new windows. My windows are fine! Not only does this mean work people in the flat it means a (granted very short) time without windows with an open space to the outside world! Nothing you and Sir Pugliet can't handle WaSy. You've been to the beach! You've been to the woods! You've been in a field with reindeer! You can definitely handle being inside with no windows.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Hahahahaha! Aw, it helps to think of it like that, thank you! In reality I suppose it will be a very short period that the glass is missing for and on the bright side our double glazing has been useless for years so it will be warmer at least afterwards. We need to tidy up, it isn't exactly spotless in here to say the least...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Haha!! I really do though, am wondering what minor op I could have just so I could get another GA.0 -
Did your ceiling mushrooms ever get sorted? Have visions of you being shoved out of your flat by ever expanding fungi. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

The mushrooms come and go. We were told to bleach the ceiling which we did and they fell off but they are growing back again now. The letting agent feels it is a problem with water pipes under the flooring in the flat upstairs. I may drag him into the bathroom when he visits on Tuesday. The last landlord left so many problems with these flats, hence they sold very cheaply. It looks like we have a very pro-active new landlady, though!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Regarding the windows, I think they do rooms one at a time....old window out, new window in, clean up, move to next room, etc., so you should be able to escape them by playing musical rooms, and leave WaSp to do the chat/tea-making etc., also, they tend to be very quick. You should notice a big difference if the new windows are any good!(I just lurve spiders!)

Musical rooms sounds like a very good idea, WaSp can do the sociable bit. Our windows are currently top opening only and they want to change that so it looks like everything will be different. As long as I can hide it won't be so bad.
I am branching out for dinner into a salad roll. I am hoping a tiny amount salad might start me back on the path of eating vegetables. I have to say I am not looking forward to it at all, I have thoroughly put myself off of anything remotely healthy.
We are also trying to persuade Milliefleur to spend some money. She is still in Yorkshire and one of her nieces suggested she and her husband go with Milliefleur and her sister on a 3 week cruise in the summer. Milliefleur has always wanted to go on one. The problem is she won't even though she can afford it because she doesn't want to spend money that she could leave to her children and grandchild! We would like her to spend every last penny she has on doing things she wants to do, we don't care about the money! Granted BIL likely wouldn't agree with us but we so want her to go for it.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh I do hope you persuade her to go!
She'd love it!
You could use this argument.......
The pleasure that you would all get out of seeing her have a lovely holiday more than outweighs the pleasure they'd get from getting a teeny bit more inheritance! And they would have the pleasure of her company and her sister's, all together, and that would leave them with beautiful memories that no money could buy! They would much rather have those memories to cherish than a bit more money.
That should do it!
By the way, hooded bathrobe people.......
