Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

"Oh when the snowmen brings the snow
Well he just might like to know
It's put a great big smile on WaS's face
    She's going to see reindeer
And it will bring so much cheer
    Don't you lock the doors
You know that WaS and Sir P are on their way"

    That was my attempt :rotfl:

  • You are all BRILLIANT! Sorry I've been offline... moving stuff, then to dentist, then a big panic trying to find the paper counterpart for my driving licence so we can hire a van to move the furniture, then Mr JM says we need to organise a man as well as he doesn't feel strong enough to do half of it with me :(

So I have obviously missed WaS, but thinking of them very much and hoping they are having a wonderful time with Millefleur - and did someone mention reindeer? :D

I know we are having a lovely time on here, but if there is anyone lurking who is having a bad time in the run up to Christmas, do come on and post - this thread is for everybody at many different stages of their mh circumstances.

Does anyone have any good sites about bipolar? I met someone in real life with a family history of it so it would be good to know a bit more about it.

(I am still very excited about WaS' day. Can't wait to hear about it).
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I think I recall a friend with bipolar belling me about an organization called MDF (think it's the manic depression fellowship, or it was, they might have changed the name)

Give me two secs and will see if I can find it

Edit: they are called Bipolar Uk now http://www.bipolaruk.org.uk

My friend used to go to one of their local support groups

Am having a minor relapse due to stress meaning I have lost weight.
Need to work on eating little bits is hard when I get like this though
  • Welcome mellymoo*! Is losing weight good news or bad news for you? I think quite a few of us will feel better after Christmas ((((()))))

*Or possibly welcome back. My memory is famously bad :o
