WaS none of this is your fault. And MiL doing an ostrich impression about her changing needs couldn't go on indefinitely. Having external agencies telling her that WaSp can't do any more is better than you and he tieing yourselves up in knots about letting her down. And your experience of carers can hopefully reassure her.
In the absence of alcohol, what else do you have to treat yourself and try and de-stress? Got to be something in that hamper somewhere.

  • I have two boxes of chocolates in my hamper! I think this is the time for them!

WaSp was ready to practically move in with her because he really can't cope with her being so distressed. I wouldn't have stopped him but it likely would have moved me into supported living so I am just a tad glad that we have gone past that point! We don't know when she will go home, she was told it will happen when they have carers in place but they reassured her that it will be by Christmas. I do understand how hard this is for her but as you said, elsien she needs to accept that she needs help now.

BIL was completely ignored through the whole interview, he is seething!

I am determinedly staying well and squashing down all of my anxiety, I will pay for this once I relax. Crisis mode is fully initiated!

    WaS big (((((((((((((((WaS)))))))))))))))))
I bet you feel like a wet rag.
Perhaps a lie down with a cool wet rag (!) on your forehead instead?

Kiwi went in for a quick scrub up. And they gave him a PUG Christmas card!! I think now we should try and find cards like GIT dog, max, darling dog ( I won't call him the offensive name, he's too lovely) and oystercatchers dogs...........have I missed pets?
Can you remind me what sort of dog Max is, and oystercatcher's dogs, and I've also got a mental block about dumb'donkey' dog:D
I know what Gitdog is and Kiwi, but it dog dog a greyhound or is that BigDog?
    Oh dear! I's confused!

I think we need a definitive list of dogs and their 'nationalities'!
    I love hearing about people's tree's.
MessedUp started a lovely thread asking people to post pics of their trees. There are some lovely ones! I'll go get a link.

  • Wet rag is an understatement, Pyxis! Addisons Disease causes problems with how my body deals with adrenaline so I am expecting a flare at any time. Wasp actually asked if I can get involved with Milliefleurs social workers because she seems to listen to me and I have a better idea of what social workers do. I am reluctant because it involves more phone calls and also I am not sure that I can be a voice of reason because to be honest they are going to look at me and see "Schizophrenic with complex mental health conditions and physical illnesses who needs her own carer". It doesn't exactly make me look stable to deal with this! Plus, I am not sure how much I can be involved and stay healthy, I am hanging onto the end of my rope here.

I would love to see the tree thread!

Do what's best for you, WaS, because if you don't no-one will.

Time for some gratuitous weekend dog photos, as I have nothing to add to the tree thread being still a decoration free zone.

This is what happens when you take a Gitdog to a field and let him off the lead with a large ball. Brambles, what brambles?

Said Gitdog then spends the rest of the night feeling sorry for himself, despite the injuries being entirely self inflicted. I have been kind and he is now a two blanket Gitdog to cheer him up.

Just done it - someone PM'd me, I'm all excited. I don't normally get PM's and when I do, I tend not to notice them for ages.

Awww, poor Gitdog!, that looks sore! Kiss the end of that nose for me, please!

Ughhh, not liking myself. WaSp mentioned putting up his mum's Christmas decorations for her nearer to Christmas and I said that is more than you do for me, you make me do it all myself. I really didn't mean to say that. I hate myself for it but I am little unhappy that he was about to practically live at MIL's earlier and leave me to sort myself out even if it meant supported living (the real comment was you were going to stay with her and leave me to it?). I KNOW he can't stand to hear her cry and it was a panic reaction, resentment from me is not going to help! I turned it into a joke so all is fine, I have to be careful when I am suppressing my own feelings that they don't randomly pop out. Keep the mouth buttoned WaS!

OK, there's an enormous great sticky beak of a nose (mine) intruding into WaS's private life. I did wonder if MIL could live with WaS (in a bigger flat, obviously) but having thought it through I think the disruptions possibly outweigh the benefits. So I'll butt out :D

I've had a bit of a stressful day as the builders have done all the things in the house that Mr JM had specifically asked them NOT to do - including draining the heating system, which apparently affects the boiler so that we have to pay about £200 for a boiler engineer to come and replace an expansion tank, or something. Mr JM was so upset, and had apparently scoured the local town for a funnel so that he could reintroduce inhibitor (?) to the system without success, that I left work early (and went to Poundland where they told me they didn't sell funnels, but I found 3 for £1 in another corner of the shop - which made me  but :j I had found them).

Anyway, Mr JM has now gone to sleep after wearing himself out trying to sort things out.

WaS - don't feel bad. I think we are all sharp to those we love every so often ((((())))) (I know I am. Mr JM and I had words yesterday - but they are all forgotten in today's crisis. And will stay that way, I hope :D)
