oooh, ok! That would be great if it was the case! WaSp's battery is going flat within 2 days now so we really can't wait any longer.
Awww, dibuzz you are still awake. Maybe try for a nap later? So sweet that saw your grandson, I hope the poor little boy is feeling better soon, colds are horrid when you are small. Make a cup of tea for me, too please! My flask ran out!
Feel free to dip in and out, Joan there is loads to read, we talk a lot! Jump in at any time!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Morning WaS! I am sort of up (not dressed yet, Mr JM is making me coffee) cos I slept so much yesterday. I am wrung out - it was obviously my food sensitivity reacting to something yesterday as I feel as I always do after an attack, but I can't say I'm properly tired.
Poor Mr JM had a dreadful panic attack this morning, which is why he's up. He's not a great sleeper anyway. Anyone got any good tips for panic attacks?
Best wishes and hugs to all xxx

I'm putting off getting up as on my penultimate day at work I'm having to take the car into the garage for the second day in a run which means I can't get in till much later than usual as have to wait for the garage to open then 40 minute walk into office. Could do without it this week!
WaS as long as the place you want to buy the new battery accepts vouchers you do just use them as cash. Alternatively use them to do other shopping to free up the cash iyswim.

Good Morning JM! I hope that you begin to feel a little better today, do take it easy.
Poor Mr JM! I used to have a lot of panic attacks but mostly got them under control by understanding what was happening. It helped to realise that it wasn't actually a bad thing, it was my body's response to suspected fear and my body was trying to keep me safe by getting me ready for flight or fight. I read absolutely everything I could about them to understand the process of what was happening internally, I felt so much better when I realised that no matter how bad I felt that they couldn't hurt me. At the extreme I would faint which would immediately take my breathing back to normal, drop my adrenaline level and end the attack. They feel absolutely awful but they are harmless.
There is a repeating circle with panic attacks, anxiety which causes an adrenaline rush, adrenaline rush which alters breathing, altered breathing which means you take in more oxygen than you need, oxygen overdose which causes anxiety and repeat. An attack can start anywhere on that circle, for example sometimes the body can just throw out an adrenaline shot which leads to the breathing problems and then anxiety, equally one may become concious of breathing and start to breathe out of rhythm, which results in the same circular attack at a different starting point. Anxiety isn't always the first cause. The trick is to break the circle.
Practically, slow but shallow breaths work (Don't deep breathe, you are trying to reduce the oxygen and increase carbon dioxide in your lungs) as does the old trick of breathing into a paper bag. A glass of very cold water drank very quickly can also help, as cold as you can stand it. It shocks the body back into the natural breathing rhythm. Running cold water on your wrists and hands also has the same effect. As I said though, the useful thing for me was realising a panic attack meant my body was working as it should, it was reacting naturally to a perceived danger (even though it got it wrong). Once I stopped panicking about panicking I found they all but disappeared.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Thank you oldestgnome, and good morning! WaSp can get his new battery today, then. Sorry about the walk to work, you must be in such a rush this week! It will all be worth it once you are on that plane.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Good morning. Does anyone else hate Tuesdays?
I broke my big toe a few years ago and whenever its damp or cold it hurts. Today it hurts before I even get out of bed. I also have a cold.
Oldestgnome - very jealous of your upcoming trip. Take me with you.
WaS. Weird question but when you go for appointments could you wear something like a burkha? That way nobody could see you but you could still see deer?
Dibuzz - hello. Sorry about the sleepless night.
Hello joan.
Haybel - hope you're still with us. Let us know how things are with little miss haybel.
Hello everyone else. Was going to post to you all but dumbass dog wants cuddles now.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
codemonkey - I recommend the 5:2 diet. I fast on Mondays (which of course makes Mondays a bit less attractive, but honestly you get used to it
) and on Tuesdays I REALLY look forward to eating

I actually liked this diet - for some reason I felt 'cleaner' on fast days but there's no point on my medication as nothing makes me lose weight. Enjoy your feast day thoughEu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Morning code! I hope that your toe improves over the day. I hate foot pain.
Funnily enough I have thought of a bhurka. I also watch all the women in beautiful sari's walking past and wonder if that would work. Some have matching scarves over their head and little cloths over their mouth and nose, I think that might be just enough covering for me to feel hidden enough.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
