    I am sooooooo bored!

Just think about how popular you are to the animal world!

(Word of warning, though..... Don't stare at a gorilla, if you meet one. That's a sign of aggression, and they soooooo do not like it!)

I like frogs. There are frogs in my garden too, though the nearest pond is 6 houses away. I have piles of bricks and stones a wood stuff in the garden, and they hide there. If I move any stones, I usually come across a few. Babies are soooo sweet.

I like walking sticks, too. I don't use them, I just like them, the old-fashioned plain wooden ones, so I have a few, picked up in charity shops. I like wooden things. They're in a an umbrella stand in my hall!

Talking of which(!), can our house have some bats? I like bats. If not in the eaves, could we have a grotto in the garden that they could live in?
    Oh, and an owl?

    I love

  • Oooh yes, bats and frogs and toads, too please! I used to live near to a pond and would often rescue toads hopping their way down the pavement looking lost.

I hope you feel better soon, LIR.

  • Weekend Recovery Letter -

    Letter from Sara

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably having a bad day, or even a bad week or two; it happens from time to time.
What I’m going to tell you, you may not believe, but it’s true: It won’t last forever.
You may be sat there reading this, thinking that there’s no hope or happiness to be found; doubting yourself, your strength, who you are as a person even; you may even have that annoying poison parrot sitting on your shoulder, whispering sweet nothings of negativity constantly; and you may even be planning your way out. DON’T.
There will be better days, maybe even tomorrow. I hope you’re listening to me now, because here are the most important things to remember:
You ARE strong. You ARE capable. You CAN get through this. You WILL beat the black dog.
I know that it doesn’t feel like it right now, and everything is really overwhelming and scary. I know that the intrusive thoughts are screaming and won’t give you a break for even 5 minutes. I know that all you want to do is cry, hide away or even end it all. But, the latter is NOT an option.
You have so much to live for; so much to fight for. Think about your family and friends – You have so many people that love, care and want to support you. Turn to them for help, don’t battle this alone. Shutting yourself away is the worst thing you can do. Ask for help, and I’m sure they’ll be there for you.
Look at how far you’ve come; you have fought through tougher times and came out victorious on the other side. Yes, today may well be a bad day, but it’s not infinite. Soon you’ll reach the end and step on the bottom of a ladder. Keep searching for that ladder. It IS there, and you WILL find it and come back up again. Trust me. Never give up HOPE that better days are just around the corner, all you’ve got to do is tough it out for today, scratch it up to experience and move on.
You made it through yesterday, and you can make it through today, tomorrow, and beyond. You are STRONGER than you believe you are.
Remember this mantra: REFUSE TO SINK, INSTEAD LEARN TO FLY. – Find your wings and soar up, up and away from all the negativity. You know you can do it. You’re a WARRIOR. You’re a SURVIVOR.
You know that inside of you there is a fire burning, fan the flames and get that head up. How can you see where you’re going if you keep looking at your feet? Look forward, not down or back. There are better days ahead, and one day, you’ll read this and think “Hey, she was right! Look at me now, I’m doing great!”
So now then little fighter, chin up and show the world that smile, things will get brighter. You got this.
    Love, Sara x

This week has been the most stressful at work so far in recent months since i started doing evening shifts BUT i'm actually feeling quite proud of myself because i have held it together. Even my manager rang up this evening to praise me for the for my work this week (and i think secretly she was probably thanking me for not losing it with the stress) :o:D

So i'm feeling good, although there is still another 8 weeks or so of it being like this, but i figure if i can get through one week i can get through the rest. I know i had a bad day last sunday (still need to talk to beau about that, im seeing him sunday so will have to be then), but i think i've kept on top of the stress reasonably okay this week.

I now have 4 days off, seeing the beau and a gig to look forward too.

Hope everyone is well (loving the sound of this awesome house by the way! don't know if anyone has suggested it but can we have a library and a really big bath?i love my baths! ) :)

Hello MU. Glad you are proud of how well you are doing.

How are you, WaS? (If you are still up).
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Yes, MessedUp! If you can get through the first week unscathed, then you can definitely get through the rest! The first week is always the worst !! It always gets better after that!

Is there something about the night shifts, apart from the sleep adjustment problem, that makes them more stressful?

Yes! You're right! And a library! Definitely a library, full of super dictionaries and reference books on all subjects! Google is damned good, but sometimes you just can't beat a good reference book!
And the library must have one of those stepladders on wheels for getting books off the top shelves!
AND! The library can be where one of the secret doors is! Set into one of the bookcases! :j

Two sitting-rooms! (Actually, old bean, two drawing-rooms!) :

One for winter: with oak-panelled walls and timbered ceilings, and a huge ingle-nook fireplace with a log-basket grate and a fender with a swing-out kettle stand and toasting -forks, and thick velvet curtains to keep the cold out, and a place for the large Christmas tree. It has deep, comfy, squashy sofas, and a hearth-rug and sofa tables and little tables for books and cups of tea. This room leads into the sumptuous dining-room with the long polished table, sideboards with sliver dish covers, crystal glassware and candlesticks, the perfect place for Christmas lunch.

One for summer: South-facing, with two sets of French doors - one set of French doors faces westwards and leads to the summer room/conservatory, which is laid out with a modern light oak dining table for summer dinners. This has one wall made of folding glass doors which can be folded right back to transform the conservatory into an open verandah. Perfect for dinners while watching the glorious sunsets!
The other set of French doors in the summer drawing-room faces south, and affords a view of the large garden in all its glory. Through the French doors is an old flagstone terrace large enough for sun-loungers and small tables, and in the middle of which is a wide flight of stone steps leading down into the garden.
This drawing-room is light and airy, and has an elegant Art Deco feel, but there are still comfy sofas, and a couple of Deco desks by the windows, with fountain pens and inkwells and thick sheets of writing-paper and little brass boxes for keeping stamps in.

ANDplease can we have the house fitted with those bell-pushes for summoning the staff? Even if there aren't any staff?

That library sounds wonderful. It will have old books as well as new and will smell like old paper. It will also have big, squishy armchairs in which to read the books.

There will be a huge kitchen with a big kitchen table.

The house will be equipped with a model train set that runs everywhere and if we need something it will be delivered via the model train.

Bell pushes would be a good way to call the dogs.

In a horrid injection of reality, big houses cost a fortune to heat and run. And you do nothing but clean. There would be no time to enjoy the library, or the two living rooms for chores.

The Wreckstoration is amply sized, not big rooms, but a number of reception rooms ( not very many bedrooms though.....) Which means we all have space if needed.

Lir - we don't want nasty reality interfering in our fantasy house. Tut. :rotfl:

The last baby in the 5 baby onslaught has finally been born. I'm trying to be happy but had a total meltdown over it on the day of the binge - a few too many all at the same time and I haven't even been to see all of them yet. And speaking of the binge, boy, did my body punish me for that transgression - I had raging heartburn all evening, had to sleep propped up on an extra pillow and woke up with a sore neck. So erm, yeah. To recap, I'm happy. Happy happy happy.

(I'm not really a nasty person. I want to be happy for them all. And I will be. Just need to placate my inner green eyed toddler)
