    I've been Money Tipped!
Incontinence is such a taboo issue still. I've always been a vary 'vomity' person, but a couple of years ago it increased and my bowel habits changed and I mentioned it was awkward and that caused me to have been under a Gastroenterologist and to have had a whole summer of crazy tests where they decided at one point I might be allergic to pretty much all food bar sugar. ( while the other theory is my gastrointestinal system is doing similar thing to other parts of my body). I'm not allergic to all food, I think its more likely I have something like ibs . I followed an ibs diet mind you and that didn't help a jot! Some anti biotics helped, but only while I was on them, so it might have been a side effect that they helped. No one else in my family vomits or has stomach problems!

My mother ( a woman reasonably advanced in years) has been going to a bladder clinic as she has had some problems which they are resolving. As a side issue to help her with pelvic floor exercises they gave her something which looks, well, quite good fun ;).

Twas Mahler 7, played in a very eccentric setting - in a barn, we all camp all weekend and rehearse and play. No-one is paid, not even the cooks! Went v well thank you! :D

  • Use any quotes from me, Duke. You are welcome to tell Harry all about me if it helps.

I don't have names for them but they are the same voices I have always heard. One is obviously my mothers voice, the rest I don't recognise. I can talk at my voices but rarely to them, they don't enter into a dialogue with me. However, if they are talking to each other and I interject they will alter their conversation to include what I have said.

I am sorry things are so bad for poor Harry right now, do keep talking to him calmly and reminding him that many people hear voices. Give him things to challenge them with if you can, logical arguments against what they threaten. If things continue to be this bad would he consider calling his psychiatrist? If nothing has happened to trigger an episode it shouldn't be this bad, he possibly needs a medication change and bringing that forward might be a good idea.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and for being so open and honest. You are all such a lovely bunch of people and what a fighter you are Duke! I have IBS too, although the jury is out on whether I would continue to have it without the medication mix. Like you LIR, the IBS diet does nothing for me at all.

Glad the music went well, JM!

Wonderful, I love Mahler. You're inspiring me to want to dig out my classical music, but I cannot for another couple of weeks because I have to focus on other stuff ATM.

Our 'big' local do is coming up. Our side of it is a tiny one night thing. I was on committee last year but health this year meant I decided not to do it this year. But, last year DH was a supporting act, this year he ( and some friends ) are the main one. Not what we planned at all, but hopefully means we can encourage bookings of younger, slightly different sort of band than the committee had booked in years previous to our involvement, which is where we were going. Maybe looking back to where DH graduated from or similar places to help musicians take bookings and our community get good music, and to hook the community venue up with touring musicians we know when we can make their tour schedule make sense with the date. He's sat in for a few years with the previous bands and the last band had a very well known pianist who DH and he were shocked to see each other there.

The sad thing about this gig is there are a few who really love the music, but not many, many attend for the community issue it supports, so writing set lists is hard....you cannot do a set list for the aficionados, because it alienates the majority of the audience, but you kinda want to, because they really would live it and some don't get to any other live music now, one in particular.

The bigger part of the music festival is much better supported and ATM much better quality than previous years have been. Of course, no one realises they have former international artists playing this year:rotfl: and that the music they are getting is brilliant. But DH and I really want to help this end of the music event weigh better against the other end, maybe even, equal it, though, to utter such a thing round these parts is blasphemous. :D
  • I have just seen a tiny arched wooden fairy door, with a tiny metal handle and old fashioned hinges. You place them either against a tree or against a skirting board so the fairies can get in and out...

Someone stop me buying it! This is not MSE appropriate!

    (I want it).
