It seems to be hit and miss. Some of them are really good, others are a bit rubbish.

Here is my new creation, being modelled by dumbass dog. It's the first thing I've ever crocheted.

It's not staying up long because it's on facebook, but if anyone wants to see it after it's gone, I'll show it again.

Also, that's not a hole in the front - it's an infinity scarf and that's just the way it's fallen.

Seen it! And beautiful Darling dog. You are very clever IMO. I couldn't do anything like that. I was google imaging peacock wreaths this morning to admire what cleaver people do.....some start as wool wrapped wreaths with embellishments. They look country and gorgeous.
  • Ahh nice work codemonkey! And that is one super cute dog too :)

I missed a doggie photo? I might cry. Could I see it please, Code? You are welcome to PM it rather than putting it up again? *puppy dog eyes*

WaSp's Christmas present arrived today and I love it. In true MSE style I got it by using money saving techniques learnt on here and the result was 70% off! I can't say what it is in case he reads the thread (Hi WaSp!) but he knows I got it for a very good price already because I couldn't resist boasting. I am very happy with it and so will he be

My temperature has swung in the other direction since my medication increase. I am sitting here in a t-shirt and the temperature is 12c inside. WaSp is under a blanket and bundled up in clothes and I am boiling. I see the Endocrinologist on Tuesday so I should probably mention this...

You have my sympathy with the doctor Code. I was a size 12 all of my life until my medications started. I also have a lot of water retention from Addisons Disease which despite being on diuretics still happens. Three of my medications cause weight gain as does my hormone imbalance, believe it or not being on a contraceptive pill makes me lose loads of weight because it fixes the imbalance. Fortunately my doctors understand this but I would be so annoyed if they told me medication and illness doesn't affect weight. I eat under 1600 calories a day without fail, I am scared to eat more or I would get even bigger! Take no notice Code, don't let it get to you.

  • Oh dear, WaS, you are like us. Mr JM's hot and cold system is screwed, as well. At least, he knows when it's cold cos he can't move, but he can't actually feel hot and cold except on his face, so he is a bit dangerous cooking as he doesn't know pans are hot until he smells the burning

On a happier subject, here are some pictures of dogs that are just MADE for this thread :D Happy dogs! http://www.viralnovelty.net/this-20-years-old-photographer-takes-amazing-pictures-of-playful-dogs

    Awwwwwww, wonderful dogs!

I am just like that JM! I get very cold when my thyroid level drops (or boiling hot it seems) but normally I stay at slightly too warm and that is all. I don't notice temperature changes normally and I don't feel heat from pans which is another reason why WaSp needs to be there if I cook. WaSp says I always feel hot to the touch even outside in winter, my temperature control is very broken. Funnily enough so was my dad's, he was out in t-shirts in the snow not noticing it at all, he also had endocrine problems. My consultant tells me that I must wrap up when it's cold despite this because I am not as hot as I think I am and in the extreme there are hypothermia worries. Also my natural body temperature is a few degrees below normal, a normal temperature reading is a fever for me. It has never been explained to me clearly why I have temperature problems, Consultants just use long words about the endocrine system so it is something to do with that and also something my new Neurologist may cover (appointment in 2 weeks). Fortunately I can stand outside of myself and find it interesting so it doesn't bother me too much. Just everyone pity WaSp right now who is wrapped up in just about anything he can get his hands on. I could do with the window being opened...

Like you was, I have temp regulation issues, but tend to run cold. After eating I can become unbearably hot. :(. Embarrassingly so. I had something to eat this evening, think I forgot to day until now, but pretty sure I ate yesterday, so not a big lapse for me, but probably worse because I feel under the weather. I'm hot and flushed and uncomfortable now. It was a small bowl of fish pie, not a three course meal.

Bowl for idea, and fork for scale

Reason, photo above is poorly framed, this is my lap.
