Thanks! Just got a bit worried that I'd massively put my foot in it!
deffo deffo not! Anyway, if you had, someone would have gently pointed it out to you. :A

I don't think he actively dislikes it so much as he's bored and doesn't hide it particularly well. To be fair to him he's not keen on Christmas at all, think he'd rather go to work!

I'm wondering, why don't you both go away somewhere for Christmas? Abroad, perhaps? Doesn't have to be a Christmas party-type holiday if he doesn't like those. You'd have to move fast though, as they do fill up quite quickly.

I agree if it was serious they would have had you in sooner- but if you are worried no harm in seeing if you can get an earlier appointment- perhaps explain it will make you understandably anxious over the weekend.

I am anxious as little miss who turned 2 a few weeks ago- still wont really speak -the odd word and that is it- its not that she cant she can say lots of words just doesnt... health visitor has been out once and thinks she is advanced in some areas and is not worried by speech... this was a couple months ago she is doing a follow up Tuesday- and I am anxious. Little miss is incredibly sociable, loves playing with other little ones as well as adults and great at getting her point and feelings across and great at problem solving just not interested in speech.. keep feeling its my fault somehow.

The toddler I used to borrow was very late speaking. When he eventually started , a little older than little miss) he just spoke better than most new speakers. He is a fastidious person and I think wanted to be more confident with the theory before putting it into practise.

Kids are different. If your hv thinks she needs help then take it gratefully, but even if she needs it its still ok, great to get help now. Its sad some kids don't isn't it? What a lucky girl to have a mummy who notices and cares!

I'd stop worring, because you also both need lots of worry free time to make worry free space for sound to come out in to if she feels able....:)

If you abide by the MSE rules, I posted a link, and the MSE Forum Etiquette info in the box at the top of the screen with a picture of two little people shaking hands you won't go wrong. Please don't worry.
If you still have concerns, then perhaps you could PM Jobbing Musician who is a Forum Board Guide and ask for her advice.

Loving the recovery letters. Solar! They are wonderful!

Big hugs heartbreak_star, you are always welcome here no matter how you feel.

Your posts are fine Tea lover (I love tea!), don't worry. Big hugs for you too, you are going through a lot. We will always listen if you need an ear. Hang in there.

Congratulations elsien! That is fantastic! Go celebrate by cuddling Gitdog (I would).

Don't worry, whitewing I am sure it is a tiny thing with littlewing. I would feel the same as you though, of course you worry, you love her.

Haybel-little story for you. I was an incredibly good baby, I hardly cried and hardly ever made a sound. At two I was barely speaking and had tests run that came back fine. At two and half I suddenly started talking, in sentences! It turned out that I had a very good vocabulary indeed, the doctor told my mother that some toddlers wait until they can be confident that they will get it right before speaking but they are still learning all of the time. Once I started I talked non-stop including to everyone I passed in shops! I started school at 4 and had a far better vocabulary than my peers, I was just biding my time. Don't worry about little one, I bet she will amaze you one day with how many words she has.

PS.Am I safe to watch the John Lewis ad? No potential triggers of anyone suffering? This includes animals!

In all seriousness, is it an option for him and would he get financial benefit from it? You could have Boxing Day as a special family day instead, or Christmas Eve?

Finding some thing that works to make YOU and YOUR family happier is more important than following tradition.

I think considering a new Christmas routine of some sort is certainly worth thinking about.

:j:j:j:j that is awesome news Elsien!

Big hugs to HBS and tealover.

WaS the JL ad is suffering free and lovely to watch but missing a great backing track IMO.

I highly recommend being away for Christmas my way of avoiding all family politics, awful traffic, and so much food which are probably the things which some people like about it - horses for courses, definitely worth thinking about changing routines if there are triggers and what you do currently does not make you happy, worth exploring other options....

Haybel, LL will speak when she's ready :) I couldn't pronounce my consonants so was referred to a speech therapist, my Mom was really embarrassed when I told the speech therapist (who had a lisp) that I didn't think I needed to see her as I spoke better than she did :D

The recovery letters are a great thing Solarjunkie, thank you for sharing.

Don't worry whitewing, if you are really worried could you ask your GP to phone you?
  • Well Done Elsien :D Brilliant news.

Haybel, I had speech therapy and lots of hearing tests for years. As far as I can remember I just didn't really get what they were trying to get me to do lol...I thought everyone could hear what I was thinking. Sounds v silly now I realise. Obv. got the hang of it at some point and rarely shut up now! Hope your LO cracks it soon, they all just have their own speed x.

WaS, I am chuckling at the thought of a JL Christmas advert with an animal suffering - I don't think that would help their sales!

I realised that I had forgotten to take my anti-d this morning, which probably explains the fluctuations today. Now that I am feeling better, this is getting to be a tiny problem with my anti-d now that I take a morning one. I hardly ever forgot the night time one. However this morning type spreads the dose out over the day so does seem to work better.I have mostly the same routine in the morning. I take it with food and it isn't that I am skipping the food, it is that I feel all right and don't notice the packet.

Can't set a reminder on my phone as I keep misplacing that.
