I have had an urge there to take on another pet (e.g a puppy or kitten). This is a bad idea. Please talk me out of it.

Think about how much Dumbass dog costs at the vet etc... that's what puts me off getting dog no 4 ! Last months Grumpy-dog cost £500 having a minor op and then Always-Hungry had an accident . broke a claw and cost £120, this is as well as all the routine costs. Food, flea, worm and jabs....

Nothing like doggy snuggles when you are miserable though :)

Not to mention the dog walker costs so dumbass dog isn't by himself all day. And dumbass dog is a diva so would be put out by having to share all the cuddles. And DH would kill me.

I'm sure there must be scope for some dog jokes here but I can't think of any! Over to you, dibuzz...

I had the same urge on Monday last week, has a really bad day and needed doggy hugs but can't afford another and wouldn't be able to go through everything we did with Steff if anything happened.
I also couldn't love another dog like I did her.

It's difficult when you lose your heart dog dibuzz, but you wouldn't love another dog in the same way, you'd love it in a different way. Another dog wouldn't be a replacement copy of Steff, because they're individuals, so your feelings are different. I still miss all my dogs that aren't here anymore.

  • It's heartbreaking when you lose a dog, I still miss the dear Westie we lost to cancer 18 months ago. His, very naughty ghost is still here though and does all the naughty things that he used to ;) this is our silly way of coping and we have lots of fun imagining what he would be doing. Full-of Beans-dog now sleeps where he did and eats from his bowl, we love her just as much but in a completely different way as she can never replace him . We like to think he would want another rescue dog to use his things. Am sure he pinches her biscuits though so give her an extra one here and there ;)

When my farmer son texted to say he was visiting the beach on his day off we instantly told him that there was a naughty white westie ghost on his way...... that's the benefit of being a ghost, you can whizz off and have fun with all the family and Timmy needed company :rotfl:

Hahahahaha! lots of fun guys in my bathroom, dibuzz. I am hoarding them! Yes, the flat upstairs is owned by the same landlord and I am waiting to hear back from him. We are trying not to stay in the bathroom for too long due to spores. My carer slightly freaked out when she saw it and told me to keep out as much as possible.

WaSp says thank you for the birthday wishes! We had a lovely evening but WaSp has a hangover because he hardly drinks due to driving so much!

Definition of a labrador - a life support system for a stomach.

Reasons not to get more pets - chewed/scratched carpets, wet carpets, chewed shoes, sick on carpets, chewed/scratched paintwork, squits on carpets, chewed/scratched furniture, hairy stuff on carpets... Do I need to go on?
If you're not convinced you can borrow Gitdog. I took him out yesterday to do training in a new place with his harness instead of his head collar. My arms are now so long I look like mr tickle.

WaS- 1/2 pint wonder makes WaSp a very cheap date. Which must mean you should do it twice as often, surely?

Ooooh, is there a dog tempting you, elsien?

MIL bought WaSp 8 beers, he had 3 and was snoring in the chair! Today he has a headache. We used to go to pubs 5 times a week back when we both young, how times change!

How exciting, MU! Do we get a hint as to what you are getting or is it personal?

Hello haybel! What tattoos do you have? Some are so pretty.
