    Good morning all!

The babies in the bathroom are bigger! I have emailed the landlord and pleaded for help (a gardener?) so we shall see what happens next.

Otherwise all fine. WaSp arrived and went straight to bed as MIL was awake all night so he is having a birthday sleep. MIL bought him 8 beers and I am getting a takeaway for him this evening so hopefully that should make him happy.

That is an interesting article! I could say an awful lot about the use of psychedelic drugs for self-medicating mental health problems, from personal experience before I was diagnosed. But I shall keep quiet because I don't want to influence people or get the thread deleted. Suffice to say some psychedelics have been used to treat schizophrenia years ago.

PS. New baby mushroom in a different corner! They are popping up overnight! It's like living with Triffids here!

PPS. They are kind of cute.

Is MIL all right? I hope she wasn't in pain.

In the rush to get DD to the dr this morning (she now has antibiotics), I forgot to take my anti d.

I am feeling a bit down, partly because one person arrived an hour early as they forgot to put their clock back, so I had overlapping appointments and everything has gone badly to pot.

Still, it should be quieter for the rest of the day. Green tea coming on.

messedUp, how did you get on with the mushroom article?

I found with my spider phobia that it wasn't a question of desensitising, but of studying and understanding them that made me appreciate them and so cease to fear them. It may simply be a question of understanding mushrooms for you also! :)

But please, tell me to shut up, if you want to!

  • Ooo yes, Happy Birthday! Hope you are both really enjoying your takeaway! xxxxx
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Happy birthday Wasp. Hope both Was and WaSP are having a good day.
Had a busy weekend and today here, with family visits yesterday and today so big clear up and tidy in the house as I normally struggle with houswork. Husband has been briliant with helping although he was at work today but I managed to sort out last bits and make lunch for everyone so am pleased with the way things went. I always get stressed out when visitors are expected even if it is 'just' family.
Doggies love the visitors, especially the ones today who always arrive equipped with doggy treats :)

I've never heard of anyone having a mushroom phobia before, very unusual....am not letting what I am afraid of as I don't want to see nasty pictures of them !!

Positive thing of the day was having a lie in as Husband actually got his motorbike back after 7 weeks being repaired (waiting for a part from Italy !) so he can finally get himself to the station for 6am while I sleep on :D, actuall I rather missed having that extra time with him before and after work but I think the lack of sleep was affecting my depression so hopefully onwards and upwards.

Still not adjusted body clock to time change, I wish they would pick a time and stick to it for the whole year :(

Its an interesting article, thank you for posting it :) I wish i knew exactly why i am afraid of them :o There's just something about them that freaks me out! I'm not entirely sure what it is. Lol, i must admit i made the mistake of going to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D! Lots of mushrooms! I coped ok with it though at the time. I'm slightly better with the ones you get in the shops. Its wild ones that freak me out more for some reason.

Happy Birthday to WaSP! Hope you're enjoying you're evening WaS :)

I've just googled mushroom phobia, known as mycophobia. There are lots of people out there who are mycophobic, so you are not alone, MessedUp! A lot seem to say that education is the key, that the best way to stop a phobia is to really understand the thing you are phobic about.

They can seem to be quite mysterious things, and have been feared in the past. There's a lot of folklore surrounding them.

WaS, have you contacted your landlord about your fungi? He ought to deal with it tout-de-suite.

Check out this link. It's about other people with mushrooms on their ceiling. It all seems to be due to a leak. But scroll right down to the discussion. There are some important points you should be aware of, if the landlord refuses to do anything.
Does he own the flat above? If not, ask WaSp to go up and speak to the occupiers, as it really needs to be sorted.
