elsien, he has a beautiful sheen to his coat.
haybel, could LO give Max a toy to take for his lonesome walks and wave him bye bye as his signal to go without her (can you tell I don't have a dog?):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Hay bel, was it you who said you'd done some clicker training?
If so and that was good I'd use click and shape him walking to leave lo. Walking in front of her, walking around a corner with out her, then out of the house with out her, to out of the house and round the corner.
Its good he cares about her and feels a duty to her, but important that he can leave her safely, or be taken out without her.
Edit, white wings idea of lo teaching him a command to leave her as part of the shaping is a beautiful one, I'd certainly include that....a simple verbal command with a hand gesture. ( that's not used for other things)0 -

Yes I am the one that mentioned clicker training- done quite a lot of clicker trainer with him. He will funnily enough happily leave her if going in the car- as this means going to Nannie's (which he loves) or to the vets (which he also loves!).
When out walking he does walk beautifully - happily walks in front of her and would walk round a corner without her or happily wait for her and daddy to catch up. He is quite happy as long as she is somewhere there. Funnily enough when he goes to my mum he quite happily trots off for walks with just her or her and my dad. He just doesnt like to leave people behind.
Perhaps I can also get round a corner carry on walking and get OH and little one to go a different way home to gt him used to her not always being there.Make £10 a day challenge November £125.60/310

DD has a night cough and has coughing fits of 20 minutes or more, sicking up phlegm. So we have been up since dawn has cracked but it has given me the chance to do some of the housework I couldn't be bothered to do yesterday. Fortunately, it's half term this week so hopefully she will be fighting fit when school resumes, Dear little soul, she is.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them.
