WaS, I agree with pointing out to the police that you feel the situation was somewhat one-sided. They do need to consider that men may be at risk of abuse in these situations, and that it may be particularly difficult to raise it, especially if not asked sympathetically.

Thanks for the info on Klinefelter Syndrome a few pages back. I did a bit of extra googling and it is possible that someone I know has this (although statistically unlikely, so the info will be passed on sensitively).

Hi WaS, we're fine thanks very much for asking Harry was supposed to come today but he's got the voices again so he didn't We're supposed to be having a meal out at the weekend so I hope they go away for a while & allow him to enjoy himself.

Just to say WaS, I agree with you about wanting to help the young man, but be careful about getting too close to him as I've a feeling that the woman wouldn't take too kindly to it. Although I'd've been tempted to go down stairs & tell the Police that he's the one being abused, not her.

Oh LIR do you get to go to Italy at all? I've been once & am eager to see more of this country!

I have created a new photobucket account, due to forgetting details of previous one (annoying as has doggy pictures in it) .

Yes, I need to keep a safe distance. I think I will let the nice policeman who I answered the door to know that things aren't what they seem and call the police when they have their next argument.

She is very sociable and appears confident and chats to everyone, he on the other hand is very quiet and looks at the floor. One of the saddest things was she threatened to throw him out and he pleaded with her not to and said that he loved her and he would try to be better. A few days later she was yelling at him again for something she had seen in his email so she clearly checks that too, we have also heard her questioning his texts on his phone. It is so typical of an abusive scenario but it seems because he is a man the police didn't consider that he could be the one being hurt. I wish that I could help him find the strength he needs to change things.

WaSp said in that scenario he would find it extremely hard to confide in anyone because he is a man and felt it would make him look weak and he believes that his friends would feel the same. I am sure this poor guy feels similarly, it is very sad.

Aww, Oystercatcher! Sorry that you are having to go through that, don't worry about photos of Secret Rooster if it is stressing you.

Not anymore:(. Because of the nature of my health condition I am no longer able to fly or travel long distances. I even find the journey to hospital quite tiring, but longer journeys whack me out for a long time. Flying is actually dangerous now. so its ruled out. I don't even have a passport any more. We lived in Italy for a while though, and fir stayed for longer after I had come back here for more treatment.

I was just reading about people being ppr'd here. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me, I would miss you all so much. Please don't anyone else get ppr'd either, we all need to be here! I have gone all clingy now...

Ppr = posting privileges removed, either temporarily or permanently. Only happens if people start bullying, get abusive, or are reported to the forum team for general unpleasantness.
We're all far too nice a bunch to get involved in anything silly like that.:) Stop panicking WaS, can you honestly imagine anyone on here being reported for nasty comments?
