Poor WaS. Horrid feeling cold and not able to move around a lot to warm up.
When I was cold through to the bone, the only way I could warm up was to get into a hot bath.

I've just had a spectacularly wonderful weekend, :) and am back at home now. It was a sort of AmDram workshop, but with more emphasis on singing and choreography. You didn't need to have done any before. It was absolutely great: enjoyable, informative, with lovely, like minded people, had a great laugh, and due to the methods used, you ended with achieving some wonderful sounds and choreo, which did huge things for my self-esteem! Plus, after one dinner, we all put on a little impromptu 'show', doing any old party pieces we wanted, to entertain each other, no skills necessary!, and all entirely voluntary. I did something that I'd never done before, as it all felt very safe and unthreatening, and people's abilities were very mixed, so it didn't matter if it all went pear-shaped. But it didn't go pear-shaped! They really were a very accepting bunch of people! :) and I got some lovely compliments, which is such a boost, as they were unexpected! Ooooh!!

  • Thank you, Errata and very good idea. I woke up to the skin just flaking off, it looks just like a sunburn. I really hope that my doctor can arrange the blood tests tomorrow because I am really fed up. My mood is very likely connected to it as well. It tends to cause depression when the levels fall, I just feel completely flat.

That sounds great fun, Pyxis! My teacher friend is currently rehearsing for a musical production called Songs of our nations. Self-explanatory really.

Ask the doc for a scrip for aqueous cream, this is what I use for my thyroidy shins and what the radiographers gave me for my radiotherapy burns, it's good stuff.

  • Thank you! I have never tried that before. I shall email him again and ask for that, too. If he is willing to write one tomorrow WaSp can pick it up for me. He has seen the flaking before so hopefully he won't need to see me first.

Try a milk bath in the interim, if there are no ingredients that will aggravate you.

Re aqueous cream, and only if you know you are ok with them, some skin friendly essential oils can cheer up the blandness.

DH uses it often, and is used to grab a tub and add a couple of drops of something like lavender. :)
  • Oooh, i have milk and honey! Thank you, whitewing I will give that a try. It might warm me up, too.

I am fine with essential oils, LIR! I have some lavender somewhere. I shall hunt it down.

  • Aqueous cream also makes a great emollient cleanser - it was recommended to me to use to wash delicate skin with... I use it daily.

Its cheap too, £1 for 500ml tub in Savers and quite a lot of the pound type shops... (unless you can get a free prescription.)
