I wonder how often any bottoms get in the way!
(But that's probably one for the fetish thread!)

Has anyone been zapped by one? (You don't have to admit to it being on the bottom!) Just wondering how strong the current feels?
Don't suppose it's too bad, maybe a slight tingle?

My main medical problem is mainly neurological and I sometimes find touching our electric fence (NOT mains fed) is very pain relieving for just that millisecond. I also, having not found it effective T all in the past returned to trying tens, for a particular type of pain this year. Its been really useful, its not eliminated but its lesser, but its difficult to know if its tens, or med change or weather. I'd like to try a more comprehensive tens thing, or one of those ones they advertise for feet, to see if it helped my feet and lower legs.

    Yes, that makes sense.
Tens can be very effective. Worth another try.

On a different note, I've tried those little zappers supposed to relieve the itching of mozzie bites, but I haven't found they worked. Calendula cream seems to work better! (I do mean calendula, not calamine lotion!)

    Etiquette re-post.....

Here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..

    - This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.

    - People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.

    - The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!

-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.

    - If you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.

"I would like to discuss something to do with [insert subject here], but I am concerned that this might be a trigger for some people. Is everyone OK if I post about that?"

Then LEAVE IT for at least an hour to allow people to respond. Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.

It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it (so please don't quote a penguin!)

    PENGUIN

This is a penguin. A nasty, crotch biting penguin (CBT).
It isn't really, you can look
    . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozGTv0hxhpc[/url]
    END OF PENGUIN

IMPORTANT: It has been ascertained that some posters to this thread have found that there are certain subjects which act as triggers, precipitating a worsening of their condition.
To protect these posters, you are respectfully requested NOT to discuss these subjects on this thread:-

Religion. (Please note: it is recognised that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and we respect those beliefs. It is only because of the fact that religion does act as a trigger for some posters, that we exclude it from discussion.)

The afterlife. The reason for this is explained in this thread by one poster, and there will be others for whom this is a trigger.

We ask and thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

    .........:starmod:.....................................................................:starmod:................

It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.

    - More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

By the way, if anyone thinks anything should be changed, do say! I'm just posting it as per the last lot of amendments, but won't change anything without a consensus.

  • One suggestion - Religion. (Please note: it is recognised that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and we respect those beliefs. It is only because of the fact that religion does act as a trigger for some posters, that we exclude it from discussion. Please don't even mention the names of religions.)

Well done WaS! Can't wait to hear more!

Off in a rush - doing a day's mkt research (as a subject) so won't be around at all, then off for the weekend this evening.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Hello,
I've just spent best part of three days reading this thread from the beginning, It's like a book I can't put down....... I'm now up to early August, page 100, post 2000 !! I was naughty and skipped ahead to see what was happening in real time and am so thrilled to see you managed to get to the seaside WaS. I hope you had a lovely time. I find the sea very therapeutic we go as often as we can (which isn't very often sadly).

I have to go and walk my three dogs now, then I'll be back and following this thread in two places at once :D I really should do some chores but it's so much nicer 'escaping' on here.....

Big hugs or gentle handshakes to everyone ( sore hands :( )

    Yey! Oystercatcher!

I'm glad you said it's like a 'book' and not 'soap opera'! :D

How can you not live by the sea with a name like oystercatcher! :D

I like oysters. Hardly ever have any, though. :(
(What's the oyster season? Is it not with an R in the month, or with an R in the month? Can't remember!)

Ah Pyxis, DD has a request for you. Please can you find her a video on making glass e.g. window panes. (This was the discussion on the way to school this morning).

And does anyone know if you can eat the orange fruits of the passionflower?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • Had to rush back because it started raining :( . I have lived by the sea and hope to again one day.

I've never eaten oysters! Sounds revolting !! How strange that I've had this name for so long and never made that connection!

I love birds and oystercatchers have always been a favourite. They conjour up memories of childhood holidays and remote scottish beaches :D

I'm popping back to read August for a while. The penguin idea has just happened :)
