Where do your folks find the time to do so many things in your life? I am sure you have more minutes in your day than I do.

I like the fact that your voices are answering each other back, WaS. That's got to be progress.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I probably do have more time than most, no job, no kids, :o just the house and the critters and ATM banned from lots of normal day to day activities.

JM is it Wagner? (Flying Dutchman?)

Or, grasping at straws and thinking of ballet pieces, Orpheus in the Underworld?

    Or Midsummer Night's Dream?

None of the above. And I wouldn't call the Mendelssohn MND an opera - it does have an oph. though. (Rushes off to see if the Britten has one.)

Let me know when you give up. :D

PS While we're on the subject of weird brass instruments, have you all seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyDYqMsPbI0 Very entertaining and not a penguin unless you are scared of baby trombones! :D

Don't think the Britten one has an oph.

Well, if it's not Verdi either, I give up!

I started to learn the trumpet at school but couldn't stand the vibration of my lips against the mouthpiece.

Those baby trombones are so cute.

The ballets were the clue, think French opera.

The only Frenchman listed on Wiki as using the oph. is 'our 'Ector' - Monsieur Berlioz. The opera was Les Troyens (The Trojans).

How about another French composer Adolphe Adam in his ballet which is kind of opera like La Jolie Fille de Gan? :D
