Good idea, Pyxis! Tea and choccy biscuits to the rescue!

Aw, thank you, whitewing. I think I need to think about something else for a while or I will be here panicking all the way to next Saturday which won't do me any good at all. Everyone's support does mean so much, I love that I can think aloud on here and get out the thoughts going round and round in my head. The fact is, I have done everything that I can do about the situation. No amount of fretting is going to make it better or worse at this point.

Well for a complete change of subject, do you remember saying that you couldn't imagine a quiet Gitdog. This is him doing his "woe is me" the other day. No sympathy, as it was entirely self inflicted. And he's not allowed on the settee either, he snuck when I was otherwise occupied.

PS mine's a chocolate hobnob if there's any of your chocolate mountain left. I need it after today's training shenanigans, which involved hurling himself at the end of the lead and making a racket.
I'd planned to do some gardening but lent a neighbour some garden tools which as yet they've not returned. That's my excuse anyway. So after a minor burst of car cleaning energy, I've spent most of the afternoon catching up on some reading. What Sundays are made for!

I have been a little jealous that you all have pets (even though I would worry tremendously about the cost and DH told DD that in the future we would get her a daschund. 'Dasch' is German for 'badger'. I only learnt that recently).

I am now the proud owner of a not so expensive pet. It is a Hetty vacuum cleaner. (Pink with eyelashes - DH is so pleased with himself for buying it as DD would love it - pink being her favourite colour. I had told him to get the yellow one but it is amazing how much is out of stock when he goes to buy something!). Anyway, it is seriously cute for a vacuum. When we vacuum, DD gets out her toy xylophone and vacuums with that, about half a centimetre from the back of our legs. You're not the only one, WaS, that can make household tasks more dangerous, lol.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Aw! Poor Gitdog! He looks so forlorn, look at those sad eyes! I would never have imagined him looking so miserable, I want to hug him!

I am now going to look up Hetty vacuums and am wondering if I can justify buying one. I love that DD joins in.

*Passes chocolate around the thread* I still have enough for another month!

Oh I love GIT dog, poor little chap.

And a vacuum pet sounds much easier to take care of!

Dachunds are super little dogs. Not for me personally but I have known some lovely ones. I also like dandy dinmonts.

I'm having a super delicious week home alone. Like was, I'm not meant to spend too much time alone, me because of risk of falling, sudden onset neurological problems etc. but I have a week ( broken up ) to myself.

I miss solitude A LOT , I also miss socialising properly a lot, so I complain about both, lol, but having the house to me and the four footers at night time especially is going to be lovely.
  • Hahahahahaha! I fall for sad eyes everytime. Animals can run rings around me, I would be fluffing up his pillows and covering him with blankets (and he would probably be snickering at me).

That sounds lovely, LIR! I do like having a couple of waking hours a day to myself. Granted they are usually spent lounging in bed with the laptop and drinking coffee while waiting for my carer but I like the peacefulness.

    Welcome to JJB.

I don't have pets as I am out a lot and don't think it would be fair on them, saying that I do miss having dogs and cats as I've had both in former years.

On the subject of Gitdog, Elsien posted an awesome post on the pets board what an amazing way with words she has!! I can just picture what is being described and I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread (apologies if I missed it)... Gitdogs guide to lap surfing...
