The winners have to go to London for a grand final, though. :(

I am sure they would take into account individual medical circumstances.

  • Morning everyone!

    Pyxis,
Thanks for posting the ettiquette post, it really shows how loving and caring you are to each other.
And well done on your guessing!
Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better even if not 100%. and a decent cuppa (no dodgy dutch tes) makes everything at least 1% better!

Yesterday evening was nice, BFs friends are lovely and when it all gets a bit much there have a cat i played with, I can't quite manage hours of dutch without my BF, they do switch to english and then forget and go back to dutch..... completely understandable i add.

although i guess that i may come across that i complain about the dutch, and their speaking dutch i actually dont mean it like that, im actually annoyed at myself for making them have to not speak their mother tongue in their own homes!

im off to find sir pugalot now....

Most people I know love to practice a different language when they are hosting people in their home. Joba, methinks you are worrying too much.

I also think the fact that they do slip back into dutch is because they feel relaxed and comfortable around you. If they didn't, it would be harder for them to forget themselves.

  • Good Afternoon everyone. I am here although might not post much today (or post loads if the mood takes me). I have PMS, there are more BIL problems which means forcing WaSp's hand and putting my foot down and I am extremely paranoid. I think the reserves I had used to get through the last week have ran out. I will be fine, don't worry.

I love worrier being translated as Warrior JJB, I am going to adopt that!

    Aw, thank you Pyxis.

WaSp finally got hold of BIL who then said he had a surprise for us. He is getting the train to come and visit us next Saturday (when he is supposed to be with MIL) and I quote "We can go out and get wrecked, crash at yours and then have a liquid breakfast on Sunday." No. Just no. I have purposely avoided BIL for 5 years because he is such a huge trigger for me, the last time I went for a drink with him I ended up standing inbetween him and a totally innocent stranger he wanted to hit while WaSp held him back. This is not happening.

I have told WaSp he is welcome to say that I hate BIL, that I am utterly insane, that I am not safe for people to be around, I really don't care at this point. But there is no way that he is staying here. For the first time in years I have told WaSp that I don't want him to meet BIL, too. Again, he can use me as much as he wants as an excuse but it is not safe for WaSp to be out with him when he drinks. We live in a rough part of an innercity area, BIL fighting with someone here is far more dangerous here than if he does it in his little village. I couldn't cope with WaSp being out alone with him not knowing what might happen. WaSp doesn;t like it too much, not because he wants to meet BIL (he doesn't) but because it is going to make it awkward for him with BIL and MIL in the future. I have hardly ever become involved in his relationships with them but this time I feel like I don't have a choice because it is going to make me ill if I don't and I really fear for WaSp's safety being out with him. I have made it as easy for him as I can by saying throw it all onto me but I am digging heels in over this.

I am almost at the end of my coping resources and am now very paranoid with voices screaming at me. At this rate WaSp won't need an excuse, I will be genuinely too ill for him to go out.

Now I feel guilty for typing that so I have to say BIL is a very unhappy and very angry man who had a bad childhood and is very scarred. He has a lot of pent up rage that comes out when he drinks onto the nearest available person. I am not saying that he is a bad person, but he is someone who has refused lots of offers of help to deal with his feelings and chosen to continue to live as he does. He has even said he likes being an alcoholic. I spent 10 years being supportive and he is still exactly the same as he was when I first met him, he has also lost his wife and child due to his problems and still hasn't chosen to get any help. I simply cannot have him as part of my life anymore when he is so determined to continue to emotionally and physically hurt others because he believes that the world is against him.
