Hahahahaha! I did that, too elsien! I logically (I thought) believed that the chili's I grew would be like the ones you buy in shops so picked some that had turned red and threw them into a chinese dish to be 'helpful' to WaSp while he cooked. I could barely eat it! Fortunately I like spicy food as they were all much hotter than any that I had bought before.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Ummmm.... you do know how to grow really wonderful tomatoes, don't you? Especially if you eat loads of bananas..... (You probably shouldn't serve them to anyone else tho in case they retain medication):o:o:p
Seriously, we did grow an indoor tomato plant one year. It got to about 12 feet high and carried on producing fruit until about November, IIRC.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Hahahahahahahaha! I had to think about that, JM! I almost asked for a description of how to do it *cough*
I have never had a tomato plant that high! Mine were always tiny with tiny tomatoes.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

At the same time as the medlar, I also got a mulberry, but it's never fruited.
I got a small rowan too. Apparently, you can eat rowan berries, but I've not tried that.
I've got quite a few trees growing in large pots, so I can keep them small - I call them giant bonsais! I've got oaks, hazel, chestnut, rowan, mulberry and medlar. Have to keep them in pots as my garden is small.
However, I have espaliered an apple tree, and have a small beech and a 'pompom' holly, which are slow growing so I can keep them under control. The only pot tree I planted out was a silver birch, and I keep pollarding it, to keep it a manageable size.
Last but not least, a honey locust, which gives a lovely splash of 'sunshine' with its yellow leaves in the spring.(I just lurve spiders!)

I haven't eaten Rowan berries but there is a row of trees in the carpark at work that are dripping with berries this year.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Me too, JM and I just spent 10 minutes wondering why Espalier made me think of castles and knights and dragons. Then I realised that I was thinking of Excalibur...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

That's weird! I'd imagined him as a small brown terrier type, like a border terrier or some such!!
Are you able to say what sort he is, without jeopardising your anonymity?
Max is a heinz 57. He is 1/4 staffie and a bit Jack russellwhich we know for sure and a mix of other terriers with probably a bit of labrador for good measure!
His fur is quite like a lab- lovely and silky. He is golden brown with a black cross on his shoulder blades and white chest and toes. His tail is mostly black and when he was a puppy it was entirely black and looked like it had been stuck on as an after thought.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
He is smaller than a labrador- maybe 2/3 rds of the size and I am biased but he is absoolutely gorgeous. I must figure out how to post a pic- can someone remind me- i dont have pics anywhere other than facebook can i link from there?Make £10 a day challenge November £125.60/310
