I was going to say don't feel sad, WaS. And then I thought back to my own experiences and, for me, sad was good. The reason I say this is that the sadness was something that happened after the self-hating had begun to diminish, it was when I began to realise that things weren't actually my fault and I wasn't actually the awkward/difficult one. I was deeply sad for a while but it wasn't the same to me as depression/anxiety. I didn't realise it at the time, but it seems in retrospect to be a healthier emotion and a part of my healing process.
I don't expect I'll post much today as I am out and about and will then have my coil fitted. I'm sort of dreading it - read a few threads to prepare myself and am thinking I may need to borrow diuzz's sledgehammer!
DH is very much looking forward to it. He is decidedly frisky in the run up to the fitting and has asked me to ask the doctor how soon we can make love afterwards. I have been reading about the potential side effects and think he will be lucky to get anything this side of Xmas if I get a heap of the worse ones.
I am sure I shall be fine. I won't google any more.
WaS, I am fine with anything you post, at any time, without any time delay. Good idea to post in white. I couldn't yesterday when I tried it but I will check again at some point. I couldn't actually change to any other font colour, not just white.
My concern was mainly the hour delay, because I sometimes post at work so I am worried that I will forget what I wanted to say.

Aw, Solar! I have absolutely no answer to that but I am blushing a lot! I shall leave it up to people to decide, I will do whatever keeps everyone safe and secure but, thank you. I really mean that.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Aaaw WaS - BIG HUGS & xxx I had similar the night before last, but I did manage a good night last night.
Harry's coming again today so I must rush on with my comps. Talking of comps, any of you compers on here had any good wins lately? Not won anything all month. But wins come in various ways & I'm hoping it will be good news when I go to hospital for my cystoscopy next Tuesday. Soz don't mean to change this into the comp thread.0 -
Funny you should say that, JM! I have spent the night whiting my potential penguins already!
Thank you, whitewing and sending you all good thoughts for today. I will be thinking of you.
Hiya Duke! Hope Harry is doing well! Good luck for next week for you too. I should really get into comping, I have enough time...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

*waves to whitewing* VERY GOOD LUCK for your coil fitting!
PS About the colours - if your computer doesn't like doing this, for some reason, you could type the whole code out or copy it. I've put some spaces in the word COLOR so you can see the code - just remove the spaces.

Morning all
I kind of wish I hadn't butted in and said anything now
I am sure this thread is a great help to many people, lots of those you will never know about as they will feel unable to post. Lets imagine a hypothetical situation where one of those lurkers was in a bad place and needed help, they may feel this is a safe place to go and express how they are feeling and reach out for help/someone to listen to them. I wouldn't want in that situation anyone to have to stop and think what/how they post. When someone is asking/needing help as in the case of WaS sometimes, the last thing they need to be worrying/thinking about is how to get the text to show in white! They should be able to feel they can just post however they please (I suspect like WaS has told us in some of those moments the writing might not even make alot of sense, they would not even be capable at that time of working out how to change the text colour)
I appreciate it is difficult to get the balance right, you want people to be able to openly express how they are feeling, in whatever writing style/colour they wish, but at the same time you don't want a post to be a trigger for anyone else who happens to be reading.
Maybe if anyone is in need of help then just post at whatever time however you want, but if someone is stable and either asking a question or relaying a past incident then that is the time if you are able to consider changing the text.0 -
That's what I do JM, Chrome won't let the menu work on the new and shiny MSE layout (that I am not allowed to mention so shhh) for some reason but typing in the colours works fine.
Don't worry, iammumtoone it is a great idea! I am fine with using white and it won't cause me a problem at all. I am sure if a new poster who wasn't familiar with the thread needed to post in an emergency that we would all forgive one non-whited out post. It is fine for people who have read the thread and know the guidelines but anyone in crisis who needs to reach out would be able to post whatever they needed to. We can deal with whiting it out later after they hopefully feel better. I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone a standard post if they were desperate.
We have guidelines to make things easier and safer for people, they aren't written in stone if someone needs to be heard right away (I am popping myself in that category. Whiting posts shouldn't be a problem for me but if I slip up during a lost the plot situation then I will white it as soon as I have my faculties back!)Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I sometimes look at the comping threads and have often wondered about doing it myself. What I want to know (and am too scared to ask on the correct thread) is how much time people spend on it per day and what kind of return do you get for that? Basically is it worth it for the time and effort you put in?
I did try it over Christmas I entered about 20 advent ones each day (I just picked ones where the prize was actually something I wanted), but won nothingI suspect that is normal as I didn't enter enough. However it took me a far amount of time and I could see myself getting fed up spending that amount of time every day and never getting anything back.

The bad thing about not going to sleep - completely forgetting your night time dose of medication. If you hear someone making arrrrrrrgh! sounds, it's me. I can't believe I did that...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
