Hahahahaha, JM! Glad I am not the only one. Embarrassingly, my therapist was telling me to stop being everyone's Guardian Angel at 14 years old, I still do it! It is ingrained for life although I do manage to stop rushing in there once in a while.
I am now on a clients decision-making capacity within a healthcare setting. This bit is easier as I have examples to remember from when I worked.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I had no idea that pharmacists could refuse to fill emergency/ordinary contraception prescriptions due to conscience-based beliefs (eg: personal morality or religious grounds). I knew that could refuse medicines such as OTC cough medicine containing opiates but I didn't realise that a prescription could be refused.
I am starting to enjoy this now, I am learning things! It is a particularly useful course for anyone working in advocacy.
I got an A in the timed quiz! Go me!
If anyone feels like joining me in my homework I will place the question here just for fun. I don't expect anyone to post their answers but it is quite an interesting exercise even just to think about.
Have you ever objected to something based on your conscience? Was it easy or hard to do? What reaction did you experience? Do you still believe that it was the right decision and if not, why not? Explain how you used (or if you did use) the following values in making your decision-
Understanding of the situation.
Appreciation of the consequences.
Reasoning.
Personal choice.
Moral beliefs.
Just if anyone is bored and please don't do it if it is triggering! It doesn't have to be a big emotional dilemma, it could be as simple as finding a £1 coin on the street and wondering whether to keep it or give it to charity.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Was, would something like this help when you are in a car?

I went into rescuer mode when I decided that if I won the lottery, LIR was getting her wet ball, WaS was getting her camper van etc etc. It is such an impulse.
haybel, where are you? Hope you are okay and it's Friday....what were you going to do by the end of the week?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Ooooo brilliant news about your A.
Welcome aneres!:hello: Personally, I always get interested if I see a car with blacked out windows - but I suppose that doesn't matter if I can't see in.Would you find something like that helpful, WaS?
I'll try to do a conscience situation later today.
ETA - gosh, that is fascinating about autism, and makes sense on so many levels! (Obvious links with synasthesia and the exceptional abilities some people with autism have, for example.)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Most cars have blacked out windows these days don't they? I always try to look too
Had an awful mare that I'd been banned from this thread0 -
Why did you think that, Duke?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I think it was a genuine nightmare, maybe? Gosh, I would be upset if this thread disappeared, too.
A day late, maybe, but I had a sudden impulse to log on and send dibuzz a hug, because a month must feel like an awful long time. It's great that the Dr can see progress, though, and even though the days will drag, this too will pass (and honestly it will be worth it when you are through the other side and back to yourself - and sleeping!)Ex board guide. If that was a dream, what an awful one to have! We wouldn't ban you! Only really, really cruel, nasty people would get banned, and then only after we'd all busted our guts trying to help them to no avail!!
That's not you, Duke! Calm...... Calm.........:A(I just lurve spiders!)
