I shall catch up shortly but just had to tell you all. I just staggered up after a nap after hearing WaSp say "Stop it! bad dog!"
I own 3 cat statues. They were placed on the floor in a corner of the room with Sir Pugliet sat in front of them staring at them. WaSp says he has been barking at them all day. I have offered to go into respite care on several occasions but WaSp won't allow it, whitewing. I thought of it a few months back when MIL had a bad fall so that he could be with her full time for a while. Not that I particularly want to go but WaSp was horrified at the thought which was sweet. I would go if it would help the situation though.
A camper van is actually something I have thought about! If I had my own little portable home I might actually manage to get somewhere. Cars still feel too exposed for long journeys but a van might be better. If I had the money I would love a caravan, I actually think I could get to places for days out in one of those.
At least the doctor thought a sleep diary was a good idea, dibuzz. Your strength amazes me, I am sure you can manage another 4 weeks but if it does get too much please go back to your doctor and say you can't cope. Please don't push yourself too hard. I second LIR's suggestion of a referral to a sleep clinic. It really helped me in that I discovered my sleeping pattern and when was the best time for me to sleep. Also learning that I was a slow sleeper stopped me panicking that it took 2 hours to drop off so I automatically rested more.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I am about to settle down with my Bioethics course for 3 hours. There are 3 lectures and 2 quizzes which have to be completed before you move onto the next class. This means I have to concentrate, I am doomed I tell you, doomed!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Hahahahaha, WaSp is mean, JM! My cuddlies get terrorised!
Well done to your friends at doing so well at their GCSE's, whitewing!
After the introduction to the course so far I have gathered that it is extremely psychology based and that I really shouldn't have chosen a post-graduate course. A first year university course may have been a better option! (or a GSCE for that matter). Oh well, I am not backing out now, I am sure I can dredge up psychological methodology from my memory somehow.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS,
You need to give yourself a chance, lady.
Of course you should do a post-graduate course. I think it is really exciting.

Hahahahaha, ok!
I am currently studying theories of autonomy (in other words what means that we have made a decision of our choosing that is not controlled by basic desires or influenced by others using higher reasoning). For example and alcoholic may crave a drink, that is a first order base desire. He may choose not to drink and get help, this is a second order autonomous desire as he is making his own decision and ignoring the base desire through his own choice.
It can be applied to a lesser extent a lot of decisions we make for ourselves but the most obvious and extreme are within addiction or mental illness when we may undertake actions that aren't controlled by our (higher) sense of what is right for us but by a basic need that we do not control and do to satisfy our most basic drives whether good or bad.
This takes me back to my psycho-analyst. They rarely talk during sessions but mine would often say that I need to recognise the difference between my wants and my needs and which one I was allowing to control me. His example was that my driving force was (is) to be liked and to save people. Do I need to do that to make my life better than it is or is it actually a negative in some aspects? Was I making a decision to do this or was it an impulse that came from a basic and possibly unhealthy desire? (the answer is yes, as I was a doormat and huge people pleaser who did a lot that I didn't want to do. There is nothing at all wrong with wanting to help others but when it is conflicting with your own needs (not wants!) then it needs a rethink).
I can see part of my course will be creeping onto the thread, please do tell me to shut up if you are bored!.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
