Did you take a photo of the lovely cake Haybel?

I want to eat cake on the horse.

My SIL makes a yummy cake for us every Crimbo, we eat it all to ourselves. If anyone calls we hide it.

Yes I did - I would love to post it but I do not know how.

Haha that sounds like a great plan when it comes to cake. Do you hide the Christmas chocolates too?

  • Hahahaha, yes! a cake with waves and smiles!

I could hint at a rocking horse, haybel. I have to give him a Christmas List like a little girl every September or he panics. I have never smelt a Yankee candle but everyone keeps talking about them. Maybe that needs to go on the list, too!

I have to hide the Christmas Choccies or my partner eats them all within a week and then puts the wrappers back so that the tin looks full!

A cake for WaS? She ought to have one with waves and smiles on it! Like that!

Perhaps she should have a beach themed cake?

My mum made one for my brother this week for his Birthday funnily enough. It had a blue cake board for the sea. A square chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream covered in white chocolate sugarpaste with brown suger sprinkled to add sandy texture. She made a beach hut, with life raft, buckets and spades and a surfboard and even shells and every single thing was edible it was awesome. I was very proud of her. She has been doing the cake class with me.

Perhaps WaS should have one with a nice deckchair to sit on from which to watch the waves. Oh course it would have to have bucket and spades and sand castles because you cannot go to the beach and not make sandcastles!

  • I would have to have bunnies in the sand dunes with buckets and spades, too! I still haven't gotten over the fact that rabbits live on beaches...

WaS yankee even do chocolate scented candles... definetely think you need a yankee candle. I love to watch the flame flicker very relaxing.

Haha re partner eating all the chocolates... perhaps you should make a fake one with something he does not like dipped in chocolate and then rewrapped to match the others - that would soon put him off lol!

Sorry for replying to everyone separately but I do not know how to quote lots of people in a single post. Please can someone teach me.

  • No idea on the quoting and scared to try it! I'd probably end quoting the whole thread and crash MSE...

Garlic! He hates garlic. A few garlic cloves dipped in chocolate would be rather amusing for me!

I am adding Yankee Candles to the list!

WaS Yankee candles are quite expensive, a good way to try the different scents is their wax tarts which are small versions and £ 1.25 each or cheaper if you get them on eBay or on offer.

Very good idea. I used to get some this way before moving on to the jar ones if I particularly liked a scent. They have really long burn times.

Haybel to add a picture you need to save the picture on one of the free picture sharing sites (like photo bucket) then on advanced message there is a picture icon at the top under the smilies icon that looks like a postcard you select that and add the link to your picture. Hope that makes sense!
  • Oooh ok! There is a whole world of candles that I never knew existed! I do have a few scented ones but no posh ones. The last one I bought was Christmas scented and smelt so strongly of pine that my partner kept complaining that it smelt like toilet freshener. Bit of a disaster there...
