Our trip to Knowsley Safari Park was a bit of a fail yesterday. Broke down at Cheshire Oaks, and by the time the wonderful AA man had fixed the fan belt, it was too late to go to the Park.

Ended up just taking DM for a very un-MSE meal at local Hungry Horse and then turning round to drive all the way back to Brum!!!!

Got a few bargains at Cheshire Oaks to compensate.

DH couldn't understand why I was so restrained, but we have had a letter from Tax Credits. (I hid it from DH as didn't want to spoil Fathers Day Weekend). This is the end of a long dispute, but looks like we will have to repay thousands. (My dispute being that I agree we owe them money, but I think their calculation is wrong). Unfortunately, I cannot convince them to recalculate. We have not had all that money, but they have all the power, so we just have to pay.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Meanwhile, better get Ebaying.

Unsure if this will help but do you have a local tax office that you can visit and sit down with someone and discuss this issue face to face. If you really believe that you are right don't give up on it.you might be surprised to find out how helpful they can actually be.

Good luck house elf......by the way ....you need an avatar:D

Good morning everyone. I was just about to go and water the garden but looks like the rain has got there first. At least there's one job off my list.

Thanks TM. Not really thought of that, as just been following the advice from the thread on here. Bit tricky with both of us working full time. Need to talk to them tomorrow.

Avatar is always on my list of 'things to do', but requires help from 'Tech Support' who is currently having a father's Day Lie-in!!! Will bump it up the list when he gets up!
