My news is that I have just paid off John Lewis so now to 98.98% of DMP plus interest paid off. Two creditors left. Excited. If I can do it anyone can.

    Well thats it for me.

Originally started my Payplan DMP in mid-2006 for £71,671.10.

Last night I settled the final account (all done directly with my creditors) and in the last week I cleared the last £27,698.92 for an average of 41%

Was expecting to feel a little more excited than this - but as it has been so long since I had the sleepless nights and ignoring the phone whenever it rang, perhaps I have forgotten exactly how bad it was and how good it will be from now on!

Good luck to everyone else in the DFW quests.

well done and thanks for sharing. it's inspiring to see people come through this.

you're possibly a bit numb from it all! it'll come i expect. go easy with yourself.

Wow! Just wow, HH! You are amazing! :T :T

Work conversation wasn't as bad as I expected, a few interesting things came up that have my little brain ticking. Just have to muster up the backbone to act on it and jump in with the big kids. My DFW experience has me convinced that I can - I even asked a proper business question this morning and even sounded like I knew what I was talking about ;)

After all, what's the worse that can happen? I look a little silly and nothing changes but it might just open a lot of new doors if I'm lucky - considering what I've got through in the last year I'm willing to risk looking silly, if it's THAT bad I'll look for another job! Now if anyone has a spare pair of "wotsits" available so I can approach the big kids feel free to send them my way ;)

Brilliant news HH. How much longer until you are debt free now? Excited? I should say so! Just like a kid waiting for Christmas or maybe a prisoner about to get out of gaol:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks all. Bizarrely it's a whole range of emotions just now and am still in the I will believe it when I see it. Yesterday I changed my signature three times, plans ranging from 1 to 3 payments. Waiting on a few things to be confirmed, at best end of July at worst end of September so can't complain.

    Have a good day ;) x
  • Ooooh I'm so mad at my TV! Just watched the story on PDLs being capped. Apparently 11% of users will not be eligible in the future - that part I'm pleased about but they go on to spend the rest of the interview talking about where these people would get money from! Not one mention of national debt line, CAB or SC! Just a discussion on loan sharks!!!

The simple fact is that people don't know help is available! I appreciate the FCA probably can't "promote" debt remedies but how is it responsible journalism??? Came across as scaremongering to me. And then they moved on to talking about bloody Superted! It wasn't even clear what the change is!

So the short of it (from my opinion) is that breakfast TV has just told millions "you're up the creek". How hard would it have been to promote links on their website to free debt charities??? They manage to promote their competition every 10 minutes!
