    Afternoon chums :)

Sorry, bit of a flier as my internet isn't working at home so I've jumped on my brothers PC but he wants it back for gaming...

    I've skimmed through but a few things;

Hi all the newbies! It's great to see an ever increasing stream of people popping by to say hello :) don't be shy, we only bite when asked... ;)

GUO, Gowronballs... Yeah, I may have been a little selective with the letters from your name LOL ;)

Kate, feel free to borrow my wotsits :) they're not being used at the moment (I tried several ways to say this and they all sound wrong... LOL) I say jump in, you can do it! Pretend you're Joan of Arc if it helps, striding into battle! Just don't use a sword... Use a brolley if you need to wave something around LOL

HH, OWWW MUCH!!!! Wow... I'm not jealous... Honest... Ah carp, I admit it :) I'm well jel ;) good going :T

Fuzzy, RMA Resolve handled my Very account too. They were actually fine (I called) unlike the woman at Very who was... Not fine LOL (I didn't really care mind you ;)). As for payments, they only make payments of the 25th so that's normal and you may get a few calls but it's no biggie just tell the about SC ;)

And finally as I'm getting serious frowny faces now... I've repaid a few small debts so no more Barclays overdraft, RMA Resolve or Wonga!!! All small debts (although Wonga was a few hundred) but that's 3 less creditors and about £500 of debt repaid for just £360ish (Wonga settled for £300 against a debt of £440ish) :)

    That's all folks!!! Boiiiiing!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Ooooh I'm so mad at my TV! Just watched the story on PDLs being capped. Apparently 11% of users will not be eligible in the future - that part I'm pleased about but they go on to spend the rest of the interview talking about where these people would get money from! Not one mention of national debt line, CAB or SC! Just a discussion on loan sharks!!!

Absolutely agree Kate. I heard a very similar conversation on the radio this morning on my way into work. They mentioned people being pushed into using loan sharks too, but no mention of where to get help when struggling. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who don't know what help is available.

It's been all over the TV today and FINALLY the CAB got a mention disputing the horror stories that people will turn to loan sharks - TBH I wouldn't know how to find one! But STILL no mention of the help that's available!

And massive thanks Monkeyballs! You've just made me laugh through my snivelling (bad hospital appointment) I shall use the full force of your wotsits tomorrow! My leg may be possibly/probably permanently ****ed but the rest of me isn't! The big kids will probably be that shocked that one of the minions wants to join the game it won't even cross their minds to tell me to s*d off for a while by which point I can have my (semi-functional) feet under the table ;)

'Fraid I missed all this, presumable be in the papers today so will have a look see if they print anything helpful.

Debt news, MBNA no 2 debt £1600 been sold over to LINK financial so have contacted SC to update them where to send the dosh. Spoke to them on phone earlier in month, and they seem fine with DMP.

    Have a good day all

    Happy Sunday all :)
Today he mentioned a dishwasher and the DFW in me went to town! Think of the cost! Running it, repairing it, the fact that I have to already hound the family to wash up

    Kate x

Hi Kate, just to add to the subject. you're right on all scores. I was talked into getting a dishwasher about 6 years ago. I was very reluctant too - and yes so much time rinsing OCD OH, smelly when it wasn't full enough to switch on kids arguing whose turn to empty - and the running costs. Today it is a storage cupboard. And life goes on and OH and DSs wash and dry up after I make the dinner:)

....and 'go there' in the boardroom or wherever - someone will listen to your input, will have been there and back you up eventually:)

There have been so many positive and super news posts lately...it's all so :j:j:j:T:T:T

This is just an update - I thought it may be of interest to anyone just starting and making token payments for a few months like me.

I have received a few chase up letters from Lloyds (regarding 3 x loans) saying payments have not been made and 'special repayment arrangement' is being cancelled and possible legal action. I rang SC and apparently this is happening a lot with Lloyds - it seems their system is not acknowledging the post dated start date :/, I.e September, which SC have advised them of.

By the way, SC don't actually write they have a web portal for all creditors and most DCAs too - I had offered to give the address I have for Lloyds

I asked whether I should contact them and remind them it's a Sept start date or ignore them to encourage a default. She said it's up to you - but it will happen again in August as it's the way their software works. I thought I might leave it to encourage a quicker default but she said it would make no difference as default should happen after 6 late or missed payments anyway.

I will write though and as per TTFTMs suggestion ask them to cancel interest again;)

That is totally incorrect information from Stepchange re the "default should happen after 6 late or missed payments anyway" and they should not be telling their clients this.

There are many of us here who have not been defaulted and the main DFW forum is full of posts by people who are trying to get accounts defaulted rather than have AP markers applied.

Neither Marbles or MBNA have defaulted me and it's beginning to look like they won't before our DMP is finished but after 29 months, I have just been defaulted by Lloyds TSB, if I wanted credit in the future that would leave me all that extra time to wait before the default cleared from my credit file

Definitely write the letters and follow up with FOS if you don'y get the response you want.
