    Yep,

At the risk of sounding like a Kilngon STI, you may now call us (or at least I'm fine with) Gowronballs.

Er what are we going to Growonballs?
Is that overkill? Let me know GUO ;)

Just a bit:rotfl: Still I will let you off because you are a fellow Haribo fan.

Gowronballs could be named after the first recorded instance, and this would be Gowron (possibly taken at the time of the discovery of Gowronballs)...

Hello been ticking along nicely for the last 19 months and have took a fair bit off my debt, however this month i have my statement from Barclaycard and they have re-introduced interest, granted its only at 0.5% but has anyone ever had any luck getting them to reduce it back, i have it in the back of my head from the previous thread that it depends how much you are paying as to when they put on interest, they have also not defaulted (neither have marbles) and i'd like to tackle this as well any advise gratefully received
LBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)

We didn't have any debt with BC but am pretty sure you are correct about interest being related to the amount you are paying and they increase it accordingly.

I do have debt with Marbles (or whatever they call themselves this week) and like you they have never defaulted me, though they did stop interest very early on and have stuck with that.

I have started to fight some of the none/late defaulted accounts as each has been paid off but am not getting very far, it annoys the hell out of me but I suppose I can live with it as we don't want credit again. However I think it's very unfair on someone who wants a mortgage etc in the future.

Good luck in getting this sorted Lizzy.

I had the same problem with Barclaycard. Intransigent, awkward, officious.

First 6 months, interest frozen but as my payment crept over 1 % it went up to 6.9 then 12.9.

It's what they do and no matter who I complained to, went up to Mrs chief exec, I didn't get any joy.

    I hope you do better.

    Hi All,

Haven't been on for quite a while but thought i'd have a quick look and say to all those thinking about starting a DMP, DO IT! It may seem that being debt free is light years away but the longer you put it off the worse your debt will become. Most creditors leave you alone as long as you make your agreed payments. The first couple of months you get a lot of letters but they all die down. I used stepchange and they were brilliant especially when it came to making all my F&F payments. Don't put it off as it is life changing, relieves stress and makes you happier all round.
And this thread has always been friendly and useful.

Even with the ups and downs and my recent shock of finding out how much interest I am still paying various creditors, my life is much improved. I open bank statements, and credit card statements with an almost geeky pleasure and write updated totals into my book, alongside telephone numbers, payment dates etc. I feel really motivated and positive about getting shot of this debt and can't believe I left it so long. Sure it's pants being skint in the meantime but not half as pants as watching the debt grow every month.

*bouncy positivity disclaimer - a dmp does not mean there are no bad days, nor is it all joy - the debt is still like .. there - but things feel like they are improving and I feel like I am starting to manage my money.
