Looking for some urgent advice please I am currently on a DMP with step change due to a change in circumstances I have been advised the only option left for me is DRO, MY Question is I have been paying my rent arrears off direct with the council and I would like to carry on paying it this way, but I'm worried that once I send the forms off and get my credit report it will be included in the DRO.
can I ask for this debt not to be included or should I just hang fire with the DRO till its paid off it will be paid off in two months

    Hi

As I understand it rent and rent arrears are priority debts and will be paid outside of the debt arrangement plan whether that a DMP or DRO.

    Good luck with it.

Wow, what a roller coaster 2014 has been for us. Christmas over and all within budget. Just had out annual review with Pay Plan and everything on track (except that Barclays stopped playing ball back in August, resulting in our DFD being pushed out by almost 16 months)

Still, We've just managed to increase our monthly payments, so hope to get things sorted in the next 12 months.

Home straight ahead, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. (weve been naughty and booked a holiday for 2015 (Holiday fund now open!)

Here's looking forward to the New Year.

  • Talking of sales, our tumble drier stopped turning before Xmas and was all set to look for a cheap one in the sales.

Just out of interest I googled it as it was still heating up just not turning. Everything pointed to the belt having snapped.

So cue a few Youtube videos have ordered a new one from eBay for a fiver. Bit of a stripdown job but might as well give it a go before spending our hard earned emergency fund.

Who knew things can be repaired? I thought everything was disposable :o;)

Hey BB worth trying to repair things if you can. We replaced elements in our oven (still works!) and mixed and matched bits from two different Dyson vacuum cleaners to get one working one. I've cut patches out of bits of left over carpet to repair the damage done by my dog. That worked pretty well too. Amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it!

  • Hi all,

Thanks to whom ever posted the template for me; I say whom ever because as I write this I didn't bother to go back to the page to see who it was :)

Quick question regarding that though; I applied for my DMP in OCT by it started in Dec however I got charged interest and late fees in Oct and Nov. In my template letter could I write to ask for refund from Oct or Sep even?

    Thanks again.

  • Great to read all these positive posts from those who have been in their DMP's for several years, as I enter the 2nd month in mine! Christmas over and looking forward to getting my life back. I have every penny counted for January but barring any major disasters I should be ok. All my creditors seem to be on board with the DMP except Barclays who are pretending they don't know anything about it. Is that normal? I have sent a signed for letter to them & SC have contacted them also but I've started getting the pester phone calls, letters & a default in the post, but nothing to suggest they know im in a DMP. I think I'll write again to them & hope it filters through. Otherwise all good at the minute!

    Hi,
Have you actually spoken to them? Ignore me if you have! BC would definately win the dmp mst most awkward creditor award if we were to offer them one...although knowing BC they would pretend they never received it...:rotfl:
