DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 10

Evening fellow DMPers, hope we are all happy on this Saturday night.
I received a letter from Credit Solutions this morning, one of those nasty ones along the lines of 'you are ignoring us therefore we want every penny you owe'. So I duly phoned them asking them why they hadn't returned my call like they promised. 'Oh we did phone you Mrs. GUO but you weren't in.' Sigh, anyway we went through everything and they agreed the amount that I offered to pay every month so we are all happy now. So on we go, debt busting all the way and hopefully we will be debt free towards the end of 2015.

Classic example of they play ball if you play ball
it's a shame they have to resort to such unpleasant tactics but I guess many people just ignore them so they feel they have no choice? But, you have to wonder how many people don't reply as they feel intimidated?
Either way, good work GUO!

Indeed three years ago when embarking upon the good ship DMP a letter like that would have had me in bits. However I am older and wiser and it's like water off a duck's back now. Creditors beware - I have got you sussed:DDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Been a while since I posted as everything's been going smoothly in regards to my DMP. I actually got a call from the provider the other week as they were worried I hadn't contacted them in a while and wanted to know if I'd had any issues! All quiet on the western front, was my reply!
Got the very welcome email from Wonga last night, confirmed I was affected in their suitability issues and so my debt to them has been wiped!!! That's about £800 knocked off my total! Which is superb as I didn't expect anything like that and thought they'd found a way to make sure I wasn't affected. Very welcome news!
Many congrats to all who have Wonga debts dismissed - large or small it all helps :beer:Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

I became debt free in September and my credit report has lots of nice red on it and is 2/5 according to Noddle. Yesterday morning I got a letter telling me that I had been pre-approved for a credit card - Vanquis.
Credit cards were what got me into a mess in the first place. I had no trouble getting them - although I'm disabled and haven't worked since 1994.
Happily it had no effect on me and just went straight into the bin.
Have a good day all

Morning!
Hi Ailz, good job on binning that letter
So, I got an email today from Wonga telling me that the loans they made to me would still have been approved and to continue paying the balance???
Kinda odd considering I don't have a balance and a letter from them telling me that an F&F was accepted and the balance is now £0! I don't think their assessment is correct but honestly I don't care right now as I don't want to dwell on a debt I no longer have

Its bad enough dwelling on the debts we do have
Right.....I'll say it.......here we go......WONGA HAVE DECLARED ME TO BE 'NOT AFFECTED':(:(:(:(
Basically, my loan stands, is not being wiped and they were 'correct' in lending to me. I am not the sort of person to bleat, do not expect hand outs and would like to think I take responsibility for my own actions. However, I am extremely angry as I believe this whole action by Wonga is 'crooked' and purely an attempt to win good press and save their own skins.
If Wonga wiped out every outstanding loan that they 'shouldn't' have made I guess they would be bankrupt. What I believe has happened is that Wonga have said 'how much can we afford guys.....£220million yeah? Right let's invent a criteria that means we pay that and see if the FCA will approve our criteria.'
At the time of taking my last loan with Wonga I had mortgage arrears in addition to an attachment of earnings and my credit file was littered with defaults....oh yeah......there was a CCJ too! Wonga were right to lend to me :rotfl:!!!!!????
Did I want the cash? Of course I did and I was never expecting there should be any notion of my debt being wiped. BUT as this situation has come about....why is it that I should not be helped when a lot of other people are being helped? Simple.......Wonga's criteria is bent
Sorry to harp on pals!!!!

Since writing this I have spoken to Wonga. I am informed that as my debt had been sold to ARC Europe / BCW Gothia (why can't they just have one name?)........I am not included in the loan wiping scheme
Complaint being typed now and a likely trip to the FOS when Wonga refuse to move I'm sure.

I think a lot of people on seeing the original headline, thought there debt would be wiped, but it seems its just the ones who would now fail affordability checks, always a get out clause isn't there !!!!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
