Hi all not been on all week as we found our cat dead last weekend
so been a bit of a sad week for us.
Anyway good news is I have now got my DMP in the post to sign and return.
Only thing I cannot see is the date on which the money will come from my account.
He did say to me it will be probably November now when the first payment goes out but nowhere can I see when.
Is this normal and something that I will know beforehand? Please does anyone know? Thank you!0 -

Hi, sorry about your cat. X
If your with stepchange it will be the 1st or 10th of the month, think it's 1st unless you tell them otherwise.

Oh no! Hugs :grouphug:
I think (i may be wrong) that Step change take all the DDs on the 10th of the month, though i think it can be changed after the first month. We didn't receive a letter or anything and had to phone them up to ask them.DMP started Oct 14

Hey all,
Quick query; when sending my token payment letter, do I send my expenditure list that Step Change sends me or just the letter, and does everyone send the postal orders or cheques to the addresses written on the monthly statements.
Thanks0 -

Sorry to hear about your cat:(
We are with Stepchange and our payment goes out on 1st of the month. I think Puzzcat is correct that you have to request the 10th (otherwise it goes on 1st)

Thank you.
When I was on the phone he did say they have changed it so you can choose the date. Hmmm 1st nov would be ok at least I know it will not be any earlier than that now anyway.
Thanks so much0 -
I've had 2 letters back from RBS and Natwest today. They are acknowledging my letter and giving me 30 days before any action is taken.
Interest will not be frozen but they will not add late payments and charges to my account.
What do I need to do now? Guessing Stepchange are sending letters as my first payment with them is due to go out on 10th November?
Thanks x0 -

And you've probably hear this 1000 times, we thought "this time we will be careful", we transferred balances but put the other cards away just for emergencies.
This is how I got into debt.
I had my brother staying with me and he was virtually unemployed, had just been through a marriage break down.
I wanted to make life as normal as I could for him, eating well, buying nice things as he was in a slump.
I do not regret all the money I spent in that time (i do really) (not all was on him in the slightest, in fact I was really extravagant in that time - not being in the best state myself).
Just one more card, I'll transfer the balance, turned into and another and another.
I borrowed the money, I'll pay it back, my brother would have done the same for me.
He's doing really well these days, and I'm really glad I could help him out. I occasionally get a bank transfer of money from him, which is nice as I really haven't asked for anything in return.
(aware that I sound like I'm justifying my spend - I'm not, I wouldn't do the same again!)LBM: NOVEMBER 2011 || debt free date:30/06/15 || The Fighting Debt Army: #442 || Frugal Living Challenge 2018 || January 2018 Grocery £1.22/£100 ||0 -

Hi, No just the letter and token payment and yes to the address on the statements.
