LastDayOfSeptember - Sorry to hear about your cat.
Thanks to all who responded to my car savings query. We are doing a super tight shop this month (luckily we have quite a few bulk buy food items in) and can shave £100 off the normal shop towards the MOT.
Amazingly I had an email from Wonga last night! :eek:That is our bigger £1078 debt wiped with them!!!:T:eek::T My husband also has a Wonga debt of just over £800. We are trying to establish if that has been wiped as they have very old contact details for that and a now deleted email address (we have tried to update these previously but for some reason they wouldn’t do it until the debt is cleared?).
That puts us in four figures of debt and takes a slice off our DFD! :T:T

Thanks so much for your advice.
Since reading these pages, I've realised that I do need to be on the ball and focussed. It's been far to easy for me to bury my head in the sand when it comes to finances. I've learned some invaluable tips and you guys are really helping me on my journey.
In fact, this month, I've chased creditors for refunds of charges etc and it's taken approx 4months off my DMP.
I'm aiming to be debt free by November 2017. I can't thank people enough on here.0 -

I'm baaack!
Been a while since I posted as everything's been going smoothly in regards to my DMP. I actually got a call from the provider the other week as they were worried I hadn't contacted them in a while and wanted to know if I'd had any issues! All quiet on the western front, was my reply!
Got the very welcome email from Wonga last night, confirmed I was affected in their suitability issues and so my debt to them has been wiped!!! That's about £800 knocked off my total! Which is superb as I didn't expect anything like that and thought they'd found a way to make sure I wasn't affected. Very welcome news!0 -
Hi
I just wanted to introduce myself to this thread, as I've been on DMP
since Nov 2011. I used to occasionally post and kept an eye on 'without a paddle', but sadly it seems to have disolved :-(. Having said that, its perhaps not sadly, as it seems to be due to peops on there being DF. HH?!
I have been a real plodder on my DMP, and have at times forgotten almost that I am on it; no holidays, expensive items etc, but none of the stress that preceded the LBM. Recently though I have gone over half way, and feel newly enthused to go faster than plod. My estimated DFD Jan 2017. I would really like to bring this forward Dec. 2015. Big challenge, but seems just slightly possible now. all frugal tips welcome.
Just to say to all newer to DMP than me. It is tough sometimes, but so worth it.imagine 1 day soon no unsecured debt!
Ps. Can anyone tell me how to do the bottom of page signature thing? LBM, current debt etc.
CydLBM Sept 2011. DMP start Nov 2011Debt; £25,550
Current debt; £11, 330 DFD Feb 2017/ASAP.
£1000 emergency fund Feb 2015 = £1000 :-)0 -
