The DCA is BCW Gothia (nothing to do with ARC!)
If I log in to Wonga it invites me to apply for £1,000 because of my excellent 'trust rating!' What a joke - I don't believe it would give me the money if I applied but I sure, sure, sure as hell am not trying it :rotfl:
This is a desperate attempt by Wonga to not be deemed 'the worst company of the century.' There is no moral rationale to the way they are splashing out their £220 million. It is a cost they have decided to pay to try to buy themselves a future which they otherwise wouldn't have.....and.........it may not work for them.
I'm huffing and puffing about Wonga but there are worse......much worse.

Hi all do you think there is an unspoken lowest limit I could cheekily offer Marisota in a letter I owe them £1054 and to be honest I really don't give a monkeys if they accept or not I would like to offer £5 a month but would £10 a month be more acceptable do you think, we would prefer it go to debt collectors anyway and this is the only one that we aren't in contact with at present apart from Barc which we are waiting to default on before contacting.Weightloss -36.5lb/64lb.
Christmas savings £200/£800.
Hol savings £300 /£500.
Birthday savings £50 /£100.

What I find funny is that a loan can be judged as affordable if you've not missed a payment?
How many people have loaned, then repaid only to have to re-loan again at the end of the month? Surely affordable should mean that if you don't re-loan then you have enough left to live off? Loaning every month for the same or similar (or increasing) amounts to most people would suggest it's not affordable but that doesn't seem to ring true to the people who have the power to do anything about it...
Wonga, in their defence are generally quite good (now, they didn't used to be) and I do believe that they are trying to improve their business model to become the best in the market but I think it's to assure longevity - not customer satisfaction.
Broggers, I don't blame you for putting in a complaint but stay factual and try not to put any emotion into your complaint as it clouds the issue and may be counter productive... I've crossed my fingers for you!
Aloof, I've never dealt with Marisota but I'd suggest you go in loooow... I'd possibly even just offer £1 token payments which realistically would result in charges being levied but you should get your debt sold fasteryou can always run it past a debt charity too, I know when I've spoken to Step Change in the past they tend to have a good idea about most creditors usual responses.
Good luck!

The complaint is typed out and going in the post this morning along with a copy to the DCA (BCW Group!)
In a covering letter I have informed the DCA that 'as a result of Wonga's actions I am disputing the debt' and asked them to sort it out between themselves! I may put the DCA on token payments while they sort it out.
Thanks MB,

Thanks MB,

If a debt is under dispute, I believe you can pay nothing until the dispute is resolved. Check this out though as it's possible I have got this wrong.
The spamming on the forums this morning is unbelievable, hope someone gets it sorted out soon

Morning all!
Yup, spamming today is awful! Some sad creep with what appears to be a grudge but is more likely some loser alone in his bedroom thinking he is Hackmaster General LOL. W O T - A - T O O L
Like TTFTM, I don't think any payment is required when a debt is in dispute but I guess if it's token payments of £1 and they should resolve it within a month or two anyway...
Keep us posted Broggers!

Hello everyone - flying visit but just updated all my figures for the month and am pretty much half way through my debt mountain. Feels amazing to be making progress and very glad I went self managed as feel like I am actually in control of my finances (or getting there anyway). Thanks for all the support and advice and encouragement from here. Couldn't have got this far otherwise.Debt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500

Is anyone else seeing some very strange messages with lots of exclamation marks? Earlier I could read Karen777's message but now it reads:

Is this something to do with the spam attack or is it my laptop? It's the same on lots of other threads and I am sure it must be this site as everything else looks fine to me

Hi TTFTM,
I'm seeing it too, I'm putting it doing to being something to do with the spammer... All the earlier posts have been removed but more are starting to appear...

Is it national exclamation mark day?
I think it's some filter changes to combat this spammer, I'm sure it will all be back to normal soon.0
