  • Don't worry about grocery budget! 6 weeks is not long at all and you have to prioritise in life.
Also you will have a really good idea where your spend is when you're not being careful and will fid it easier to target the areas you can save in at the end of it.

  • Just a quick one before I start studying - AGAIN 'sigh'

    Money generating
Hubby had some money back for a football ticket so that plus the ebay sales that have finished and something else that I can't remember means another £70 to op.

I'm not going to even write about money saving as I don't feel like I'm doing much at the moment but I just need to finish this thesis writing and then I can have a look at where we are!

  • Hi all
I've had a wonderful weekend, it was our anniversary and we went to london for the day to see a street car named desire which was absolutely immense. We picked the cheapest seats at the theatre and only paid £12 each for the train so excluding the money spent on cocktails ;) it was a reasonable day out!!!

    Money Generating
I sold quite a few flea bay items so need to wrap and post today, should have around £70 to op. Husband saved us £10 off a meal out so we'll op that too.

    Money Saving
I've menu planned for this week so should be able to stick to that even with Uni commitments.

    Off to do more studying

  • Nothing much to report today, I need to do a bit of shopping for the kids - extra clothes for nursery etc and a gift for christening we are off to at the weekend.

    Money generating
Another £30 from £co so op'd that. Also I've booked in to do another baby sale in October so will need to pay for that but I should make a decent amount this time as I have quite a bit of winter stuff.

Off to take advantage of the last bits of sunshine this summer

  • wow that's a good fleabay total! There was me impressed I hit the £30 mark last week!

Are the baby sales worth it? I'd like to do one in the future - well once this bubba arrives and I know whether I have a ton of girlie stuff to sell or to keep!

Katiegizmo I really think they are. Over the two sales I've done I've made about £140 the table fees are quite low (£12-15) and they've always been busy. Most of the stuff I've sold weren't big items, baby mobiles, jigsaws, books and clothes oh and shoes go really well? I think you have to price realistically as they are somewhere above a jumble sale/car boot and below flea bay price wise so I tend to take stuff that wouldn't sell or isn't possible to sell else where. I've quite enjoyed the two I've done and I've loads of stuff this time so I'd hope to make quite a bit. I've no idea how they compare to the nct sales, I'd be quite interested to find out though.
As for the flea bay total it isn't normally that high there were quite a few high value items like dresses and an kettle that helped the total climb. Post thesis submission in October I will be like a crazy lady loading flea bay up, if it isn't nailed down it goes!!!

No money to report today, yesterday was a NSD as should be today. I shall need to do a little shopping tomorrow but should manage another NSD this week - ooh Monday was one too!

Have a fab Thursday all - back to the books for me today, I've completed 9.5k words so far of the 15-18k I need to do and I've transcribed all of my interviews which is very time consuming! So a big push this week should see the majority of the work done and gives me 3 weeks of edit, edit, edit!

  • Morning all

£10 op'd from a saving on some tickets we've bought. Yesterday was a no spend day, I'm doing so much better with those so far in September even though we are only a few days in which shows just how bad I did in August! I've done an audit of the cupboards, freezer and fridge and will do an order today for tomorrow for the missing links!

As I write I've had my heartbeat checked three times, been informed my teeth are broken and I need some medicine and now I'm wearing a fireman's hat…

    Happy Friday!

  • Thanks, I think I have to bite the bullet and go to a sale - we have sooooo much stuff that I will never get ont/will never sell on fbay. I only know of the nct baby sales, will have to keep my eyes open for alternatives too although we also have so much non-baby stuff it's tempting just to do a standard car boot....
