Any problems with Scottish Power?

I'm with British Gas right now, but according to uswitch.com I can save over £100 if I switch to Scottish Power. Has anyone had any major headaches with Scottish Power?

I switched from British Gas earlier in the year. I love being able to read my meter and input online and generate a bill. Customer services have been very helpful when i have phoned them. Think I will stay with them if only for the very pleasant Scottish accents.0

We had scottish power at our last house and have switched at this one too.
Have to say I have never had any problems, they have taken DD on time, refunded money with no problems and have managed our acounts no problem.
They always seem to be cheaper for us too, because we are a high electricity user.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
I called to get a quote and they quoted for online-dual fuel £46.00 a month, which is pretty good.

Going to have the husband call when he gets home since he'll be paying.0 -

But don't switch by phone!

Switched to Scottish Power after a terrible 3 months with BG. What a difference. They answer emails and the phone and the website works.

Also look on Quidco for switching deals.

I'm on Economy 7 tarriff with Southern Electric at present. According to the calculator on the ScottishPower website, switching would save approximately £100 per annum. But they terminated the switching process mid stream, because they "do not have a tariff for Economy 7 in the Southern area".

We all seem to be doing the same! I have had a few probs with SP but they have resolved it sorta to be satisfaction, gave me £20 off my account for the error, apologised profusely and the customer service has been very good.BG who I changed from, refunded me a credit balance when I changed said it was the final bill etc (not estimated) 5 months later send me another letter and bill saying they were going to collect £135 as the previous one had been an estimate - they gave me approx 4 days notice and I had a ridic conversation with BG person who insisted they were right, it was all SP fault and mine in that they do not accept final readings of the meter over the telephone - my point was why ask for it in the first place if you are going t ignore it. So far I havent heard anymore, but I am sure I will. SP even jiggled my payments and put me on a better plan (new one) to make sure I was comfortable with the monthly payments in lieu of their mistake. We like!!:j0

Fairly pleased...lack of email to remind to read meter last time only so far which caused a huge bill that could not be changed. I have sent 2 emails a week ago and still not had any response. They seem the cheapest for us, so we will stay with them right now. Mrs Happy0
