A Yes vote means better jobs for young people in Scotland

just admit that you feel a nationalistic and racist dislike of the English
Once again, certainly not.
II have no hatred nor racist thoughts against the English.
I was supporting them last night and still hope they go through.
I have many fiends and family who are English.
I've cited Alex Salmond on a few occasions who saidI also believe that the bonds of family, friendship, history and
culture between Scotland and the other parts of the British Isles
are precious. England, Wales and Northern Ireland will always
be our family, friends and closest neighbours.
Now, please give it a rest.
There is only one poster trying to incite hatred and racism.
Please try to stay on topic and add points for debate and discussion instead of your repeated attempt to try and goad and incite a flaming spiral:wall:

A yes vote means less jobs for young people
Please explain why you think so

YOUNG PEOPLE WILL BE BETTER OFF WITH A YES
Independence can create more manufacturing jobs
Opportunities of independence can generate £5 billion boost for Scotland’s economy:wall:

tell us why exactly, it creates the new jobs.
is it a result of a smaller population unit creating new jobs :
so if we broke the Uk into say 12 different countries each with 5 million there would be magical increase in manufacturing providing a 6 x £5 billion boast?
is it a well known law of economics
would all largish countries benefit in the same way?
or is it something uniquely Scottish?
or is it just propaganda / wishful thinking?0 -
Alex and Nicola's "promised land" bribes have obviously failed to win over the youth of my area. The high schools recently had a mock referendum for those eligible to vote, No 71.3%, Yes 28.7%. One school out of the 8 voted yes with 52/48%. Interestingly we have a SNP MP and MSP. The council is ind 10, snp 9, lab 3, con 3. In the area for the school that voted yes the councillors are 2 ind and 1 snp and is considered the deprived area.0

Ok, to pick just one factor, with a Yes vote for Scottish independence, Scotland will gain more power over industrial policy. This is an opportunity to create more jobs in manufacturing.
The Scottish Government published a report last week called ‘Reindustrialising Scotland‘ which focuses creating job in manufacturing.

my question is whether there is an economic law that applies equally everywhere, that says a unit of round 5 million people is the best size for economic determination.
so would the same economic law apply if UK was broken up into say about 10 units of 5 million each?
would each unit get this magical industrial lift
or is it unique to Scotland?0 -

Your question was asking me to explain "Why exactly, it creates jobs"
I trust you were not happy that I was able to answer the query and are now trying to change the question. It's called changing the goalposts.
I've answered before this is not about the size of the population so don't think there is any value going over this again.:wall:

so you have absolutely no reason to expect that more jobs will be created in Scotland except you have more control over industrial policy?
do you think that this is a general economic principle that small entities with control over their own industrial policies will produce more jobs that large entities?
would France do better if it were broken up in a similar fashion?
Would Scotland do better if it were formed as two different countries (say Highlands and Lowlands) each able to have their own industrial policy?0 -

I think that is pretty fundamental, don't you?:wall:

if it were true then an independent Lowlands would have more manufacturing jobs
and a independent Highlands would have more manufacturing jobs
than a single Scotland
and of course Scotland would never ever join in a big entity like the EU as some of that independent decision making would be compromised and jobs lost.
In fact you are willing to abandon any economic logic because any thing at all is preferable to being in union with England.0
