War is a daily occurrence : try listening to the news.

I'm not suggesting that Scotland is about to wage war on anyone but to suggest that 'national pride' is harmless is a denial of history.

you must learn to distinguish between a propositions thus

A has a tendency to cause B

from

A always causes B

but as you asked bout France: they do have a long history of invading their neighbours although I have no reason to believe they current plans to do so.

The current issue is basically, is 'pride' in being 'Scottish' a commendable value?
And is it more / less commendable because Scotland is a 'nation'.
