I have tasted extremely expensive Belgian dark chocolate, as well as Green and Black's of course, but this basic bar beats the lot! Try it - you wont be sorry....
Polly
I'll echo echo what Polly said but it is only 25p for 100g!0 -
I have just bought a 25kg back of granulated salt for D/W, Wash/machines etc for £8.99 - I think(!) that was a bargain!!! (Got it at my local hardware shop)0

TESCO *EGG SPAGHETTI* 39P ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD
and I should know I love pasta !
also the whole egg pasta range is made in Italy and is wicked. The spaghetti taste like the ones my grand'ma used to cook for me when I was a kid which is incredible !0 -
Tesco's Beefy is every bit as good, if not better than, Bovril and a lot cheaper0
-
Sainsbury's own TONIC and DIET CLOUDY LEMONADE and GINGER & MANGOE CHEESE are better than Tesco in my opinion0

try aldi for the pure apple juice or orange juice @ £1.09 (or therabouts) a litre it is brilliant, better than those at £3 they also do a brilliant prawn sandwich for 99p and their jelly babies @45p a bag are much better than bassetts, or any store brand.0

I do a lot of shopping in Lidl - for the price of course but actually also for the products themselves.
Brie and Camembert are cheaper and better than other own brand. (Price of known brand are just too ridiculous, and going to france 4 times per year I don't miss this) - they had cheap and good comté as some point - hope it will come back
I've been looking for ages for 'Le Chinois', a brioche and lidl was the first place I could find it (have seen it in others now)
Like very much some of the yogourts there too
canned mushrooms - good and handy, canned green beans
apple and other vegs - mainly when the special half price sale is on for several weeks!
like the ham and diced 'lardons' - buy my eggs there too
there has been Lidls in all the countries where I lived so far (well, only 3)
I have known lidl for at least 15years now - my mum was going there -
it's not the only place we go - I go to asda, sainbury's, lidl
I find tesco SO expensive but that might be because I never went to a big one??? only tesco express, tesco metro.
Now there is an aldi nearby, didn't try nuch yet but there are nice things
and to finish, when I arrived in UK and was going to Lidls it really struck me that it was mainly foreign people (like me!) and now after 4 years, I can see there are more brittish - ok not very useful comment but I wanted to share my observations.
the only pb with these kinds of discount stores is that everythings looks so expensive when you go to other stores :-)
HAPPY SHOPPING EVERYONE!

Have to agree with you bigbadbiker about the Sainsbury's Basics ground coffee and since I've been using it, for well over a year now, I've had numerous people offering compliments about it and I'd been using much more expensive ones before then without a murmur!
But my biggest thumbs up is for Sainsbury's Basics Chips 80p for a 2.72kg bag which you can oven, grill or fry. Don't know what it is about them but for someone who isn't a great fan of chips I can't get enough of these!0 -
Hi
I love Aldi tomato sauce called Bramwells (I think) you can actually taste the tomatos in it. today I am having Home made chips, Cod with my batter( made with SR flour with salt and water, and mushy peas with my Aldi Tom sauce and Vinegar. Very naughty but very very nice.
I agree with Mercenary about making your own Yorkshire pudding but I add a bit of dry mustard powder.
And a couple of tips I have picked up so thanks for them.:jLizbee.;)0 -
