I have it in my 1st already (for regular saver), but wondered if I transferred it into the saver account now, then put it back after the switch completes?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

I have a question and hope someone will be able to help!
7 days is the time stated for the switch to be up and running. But what do you do in terms of spending within those 7 days?
Is the only way to access any funds with a credit card or if you take out any money from your original bank in cash?
Or because the banking switch has not fully taken force within those 7 days, is it still possible to use your bank card from your original bank?
I know payments will still go out but what happens if you actually need to buy things (eg food and day to day things)
I had wanted to wait until all my buying and bulk buying had been done which I'd actually earmarked for this weekend. But then I read the final date is the 5th....I can't get my shopping done before the weekend, I just do not have the time!
In addition, I paid a cheque in on Monday, this wont clear till next Monday and if I need to get hold of that cash, when it has cleared in the old account, is there any way to access those funds before the switch has fully occurred which if I did this tomorrow would be next Wednesday0 -
Could you guys please start a new thread as the old one is saying £125, when its now only £100.............Thanks.0

It will be £125 before long again. It yoh-yohs between the two amounts but the general terms stay 100% the same.0

I opened a 1st ac, esaver, and regular saver about 2 months ago, and have been using the 1st account to fund the regular saver.Archi_Bald wrote: »You seem to suggest the money cannot stay in your account because of some switch - can you explain why?
I've just this week initiated a switch from Co-op.
I thought the £1000 had to be transferred into the 1st ac, after the switch completes?
Therefore I'm asking should I transfer the £1000 to the FD esaver, then after my switch completes, transfer it back to the 1st ac to satisfy the switch t&c's.
Or should it come from a different bank?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Has anyone had any trouble closing the account between the 6 month and 12 month mark to get the additional £100?
Mine is due to come to a close in March to get an extra £100, but what happens if I switch the account? Will they automatically pay out the extra £100 just before the switch?0 -
I didn't think existing customers qualify for the switching bonusThis offer is only available for people who haven't previously held any account with first direct

If you've already paid in the £1k then you will have met the criteria for the incentive once the switch completes. The credit needs come from another bank or source and needs to be in the 1st account, not the regular saver and you can move it back straight away. As long as the credit is paid in within 3 months of the account being opened it doesn't matter when.0
