Just switched to the First Direct current account. Been told that until the end of July 2014, the incentive to switch (using their switching service) is £125 rather than the usual £100.

According to their website, you can switch again (within 12 months) to another bank and they will give you another £100
And that's on top of any money the new bank give you for switching to them.0 -
Literally just opened a first direct account and it said £100?
Slightly off topic, but does having an Everyday e-Saver account waive the £10 a month fee?0 -

Presumably you didn't use the special MSE link contained in this article?

Just opened first account couple weeks ago. Will be switching my HSBC current account. Pretty sure its within 3 months of opening to qualify the incentive + need to inject £1000pm
Does anyone know if HSBC leave my other low rate savings account alone? I need to close some it but will be keeping one. It shouldn't effect my internet banking access too correct?
Soz for bit OT0 -
I'd be interested in switching to First Direct to get the £100, but they say you can only get the incentive if you have never been a customer before.
Do they stick rigidly to "never"? I had an FD account in about 2000 or 2001, so it's over a dozen years ago. Haven't been with them since. Would be a shame if that means I can't get the incentive.
I can understand them not wanting people to switch to them, then switch away and switch back within a few months to get the incentive twice. But it would be nice if there was a cut off so that once so many years had passed you would be eligible again.0 -
Some people have been rejected for having an account prior to 2000, so I don't think they'll pay out, but by all means ring them and ask.Do they stick rigidly to "never"? People have had First Direct expect them to remember logins / passwords etc from when they first opened for business.Judging by experiences reported on here, yes they do.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

has anyone received the incentive payment after completing the switch and having a £1000 a month FPI ( transfer from another acc) and not a BACS payment such as salary?
thanks0
